Bitcoin is Banned in Russia 🇷🇺

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

imageThe flash of a move from Russia, which is trying to make the virtual currency Eteryum almost its own currency. Sergei Shvetsov, First Vice President of the Central Bank of Russia, said Russia would block access to internet sites where Bitcoin could be bought and sold.
Shvetsov said in his statement, "We can not stay away from this, we can not allow individual investors to access such distorted instruments directly and easily."
Crypto currency Bitcoin is currently trading at $ 4815.28 with an increase of 0.89 percent, while Ethereum is trading at $ 296.44 with a loss of 0.18 percent.

Oh my god, this is honestly so annoying. I'm tired of Russia not taking any meaningful steps towards accepting cryptocurrencies. To be honest, I feel as if they are blocking off peoples access to exchange websites so that nobody can make a profit "easily"..
Honestly, Russias stance on cryptocurrencies/ bitcoin is looking pretty pathetic. And this opinion is coming from a RUSSIAN!

Unfortunately, what you say is true

I guess the Russian government never heard of VPN's? (Virtual Private Networks) A VPN is basically an encrypted network connection. Using a VPN a user can route network traffic through another country or region and still access the bitcoin networks while being IN RUSSIA... Or will they be blocking and outlawing all encrypted VPN's too? Good luck to them in trying to control the masses.

Personally - It has occurred to me that all this earth pounding may be Russia trying to scare the markets into selling so that they can buy. Psych ops.
