Bitcoin may have left the pier, but has very high potential of hitting $1 million. It's not too late to jump on board, you just have to expect significantly less returns than what earlier adopters have gotten. You'll get there. 2 years ago I was overwhelmed by the choices. There was much uncertainty. Now, I literally could have spun around til dizzy, and blindly picked a coin listed on coinmarket cap, and made millions. Coinbase is...decent, at best, if you're in the USA. It's what I use too. Don't invest what you can't afford to lose, and $20 a month in either bitcoin / litecoin / eth / dash could prove beneficial. Just don't take my word for it, you must do your own due diligence. Good luck and welcome to steemit!

Thanks @bitfiend I feel the same way about investing what you are willing to lose. It has enough potential to invest a small amount at a time and use it as a learning curve as you watch the market. Good luck to you also!
To be fair, I was afraid of losing my investment so I didn't. Had I done so, I'd be sitting pretty, so I've started taking more risk. The thing is, worst case scenario just cash out. You're not exactly losing your money unless the price plummets or your account becomes compromised. So at best, if you're low on cash because you over-invested, just cash out what ya need. Hopefully I never have to cash out. I'm all about HODL right now.
I agree with...HODL it!
