According to a recent poll by CivicScience, most Americans trust Bitcoin more than they trust Facebook's Libra. 86% of respondents say they are not interested in Libra, it seems that Facebook is waiting for a hard time.
-Facebook's Libra against a tough crowd
Facebook has been facing difficulties in the United States ever since it announced the Libra.
CivicScience, a survey company that provides real-time insight to consumers, recently published an article detailing the interest and general interest of the people surrounding Libra. Results showed that Facebook is against the crowd in United States.
-People trust Bitcoin more than they trust Facebook
According to the CivicScience survey, 77 percent of respondents do not trust Facebook “at all,” while 21 percent said that they trusted Facebook only “a little.”
Interestingly, 40 percent of Americans rely on bitcoins and other crypto currencies. 35 percent of 1,770 respondents said that they trust Libra less than Bitcoin, while 5 percent believe that LIbra is only “slightly less inden than the world's largest encryption currency.
CivicScience said more research is needed to find out exactly why people feel what they mean in the survey. It is clear, however, that many people familiar with at least crypto currencies are more willing to leave their money in the hands of a technology giant with intentions to question a decentralized, precarious system based on mathematics.
-Other polls show Facebook's low confidence in Libra
CivicScience's survey coincides with a similar survey by Viber, an instant messaging application where 49% of respondents in the UK and the United States found that Facebook didn't trust Facebook when it comes to digital currency.
On July 23, the German financial association Bürgerbewegung Finanzwende conducted a survey indicating that approximately 71% of German citizens were skeptical about Facebook's Libra.
