One thing about Quadriga that made me stop being able to use it is the fact that you need a bank card WITHOUT a visa logo on it. I used to have one of those but then my bank sent out all these new cards with the visa logo and it no longer works with Quadriga.
You can open a savings account at RBC, which will get you a non-Visa debit card.
For now it may work. There is the hassle of sending money to that account (with a fee) or getting my pay and bills sent/withdrawn from a new account to start using it. I just pay the slightly higher fee for coinbase now using my bank card with the visa logo like a credit card. Plus there would be another monthly fee for the account. Thanks though.
Wow, thanks for the information
This is worthy of giving a try
thank's for information @arnoldwish...!
excellent info, thanks for sharing @arnoldwish. I'm in Canada and use www.BitBUY.ca. It was easy to set up and easy to do the eTransfer for buys . What is your take on BitBUY?
Also, I'm looking for an exchange with Canadian access to buy Ripple and the major exchanges don't offer it yet for Canadians - any suggestions?
Until recently I agreed that QuadrigaCX was THE crypto-exchange for Canadians, but they have cut off all funding deposit methods. They no longer allow bank wires or EFT. The only supported way to send CAD funds to Quadriga is to use a Panamanian company called CryptoCapital, and all I can find about them is negative reviews.
I would use Coinbase https://www.coinbase.com/join/5955358402bf5b00b597da36 (USA) to convert USD to BTC then transfer BTC out to Binance https://www.binance.com/?ref=12558281. Binance 0.1% per purchase. If you purchase BNB tokens (directly from Binance) your trading fees is 0.05% per order while Coinbase/GDAX is 0.5%. By the way, use GDAX to convert USD to BTC not Coinbase ( coinbase owns GDAX). You still need a Coinbase account. Use a market order in GDAX to avoid 3.99% fees to convert USD to BTC.
I found Quadriga very easy to sign up to ... I had a few probs and Quadriga
staff worked with me until they resolved my Delmar .... I do think how ever with all exchanges ..the growth of cryptocurrencies all exchangers has to grow with the market...
Excellent information been provided! Thanks for sharing.
Can i know whether cryptocurrency exchange is legalized in Canada or not?
Classification of cryptocurrencies always seems to be a challenging and however centre point for regulators. Recently, Chetan Phull, the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) called on parliament to legalize cryptocurrencies as ‘money’.
