New research points to the biological clock, a molecular back counter that is responsible for keeping us in the daily dormancy cycle. Scientists compared voiding patterns, both in volume and frequency, in normal mice and in a genetically engineered mouse that removed two biological clock genes, causing them to lose biological rhythm functions.

They found a gene called Reverb-α, a biological watch gene that controls the production of a protein called Cx43 that determines how long the bladder holds urine. scientists
In an online article published by Nature Communications, they stated that genetically modified mice do not irrespective of daily cycles, while normal mice urinate more frequently when awake than sleep. Meanwhile, normal and genetically engineered mice produced the same volume of urine.
Researchers have also found that an increase in Reverb-α causes an increase in the concentration of Cx43 when the normal mouse is awake. The research team thinks that pee bags can hold more urine due to the falling Cx43 concentration, although more Cx43 means less space in the piss bag, although normal mouse does not stop urine production while sleeping. This makes mice less likely to urinate.

The authors drew attention to the fact that scientists have to consider the effect of biological clocks when investigating why children soak their beds or why older people try to pee at night.
