When do you last head the apes family and what do apes look like?
Apes are a kind of animal called primate. Humans and monkeys are also primates. Apes are covered with fur. They have two arms and two legs, and their arms are usually longer than their legs. Apes are sometimes confused with monkeys. But apes are larger than monkeys and Monkeys have tails, but apes do not. Apes arms are also usually longer than their legs.
The great apes family
There are two groups of apes called the great apes and the gibbons. The great Ape family consists of five different species which are Gorillas, Orangutans, Chimpanzees, Bonobos and Man. Apes are mammals that look and sometimes act like humans. Though Man is one of the apes, man is not the only endangered ape. In Cameroon apes are endangered except man. Other apes are losing their forest homes. People are cutting down the rain forest for farms and houses.
Gorillas

Western Gorilla

The Western Lowland Gorillas and the cross river Gorillas are both sub species of the Western Gorillas and live mostly in Centre African Countries like Cameroon, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea. Gorillas live in families and the dominant male known as the Silver Back is the head of the family. The Western Gorillas defer with their Eastern counterparts in physical appearance, social structure and even diet. Cameroon is home for two subspecies of the western gorilla. The cross river gorilla lives in South West and North West Regions. It is critically endangered: less than 300 remain in the wild. The western lowland gorilla lives in the South and East Regions.
