RE Interceptor 750 touches 160 kmph

in #bikes7 years ago

Royal Enfield Interceptor 750will be an all new bike that Royal Enfield will be unveiling at the 2017 EICMA show on 7th of November. Rudratej Singh (also known as Rudy) had recently tweeted about him having a good time Siddartha Lal, the CEO of Royal Enfield at the company’s UK technology centre in Bruntinghope. Royal Enfield has been working on introducing a new 750cc bike. This will be made for the European and American market.
This will be an all new bike for the Indian market. Royal Enfield will be locally manufacturing it and exporting it to other markets. The new bike will be priced at Rs 4 lakhs for the Indian buyers. So technically it will be much cheaper than the Harley Davidson. The current Street 750 comes for Rs 6.3 lakhs (on-road). This makes it a more affordable buy than the Harley.
At the moment, the RE Interceptor 750 is in its final stage of testing. This new bike has been designed for global markets. It will be quicker than any of the REs that is currently sold. Mr Lal had stated last year that the new bike will be able to compete with other international mid-weight motorcycles. This new bike might just go on sale first in Europe and America and then could come to India after that.
The key highlights of this motorcycle will be the dual exhaust, ABS, analog instrument cluster, high-mounted rear turn indicators and round headlamp with daytime running LED. The new twin cradle chassis will be used. This has been inspired from the existing Conti GT platform. It is bigger, wider and stronger. It has been designed to take the higher torque and vibrations from this engine. The chassis and the suspension has been tuned by Harris Performance.
This could be coming with a six-speed transmission. There shall be dual exhausts and it will have long stroke engine, so the thump will still exist. The optional ABS will be there too. The new bigger engine will improve the performance and the chassis will be able to handle the torque too.

Interceptor 750 Design
This is the first global product from RE, but it has been derived from the Continental GT in design. There isn’t a major change in its styling and it seems a beefed up version of the Conti GT. The Himalayan was the last product that was designed in India and post that the work moved to RE’s satellite centre in the UK. The production will be in Chennai plant itself. Despite the twin-cradle frame, the design is almost the same. This is a new frame as the current one will not be able to take the load and have agile handling too.
The long wheelbase will improve the stability and handling too. The retro styled headlamps, tail lamps and mirrors will continue. The twin exhaust, cafe racer seating and 17-inch wheels with spokes will continue on the Interceptor 750.8b3070f05535661e5c0050aac133ad67.png
