Who invented the bike. The first bicycle to be used today was Kirkpatrick Macmillan, a Scottish sculptor in Courthill, in 1839 in Dumfries, England. This bicycle, which was made entirely from the skeleton, weighed about 27 kilos. There was a horse head on the front of this bicycle which had wheels on it. The front wheel diameter was 80 cm and the rear wheel was 105 cm. To move the bike, the pedals connected to the rear wheel were used through the cranks. Moving the pedals back and forth with the feet provided the progress of the bicycle.
Kirkpatrick Macmillan did not know that he was making an invention to be loved by billions of people and used in every country and every time. Macmillan's sole purpose in inventing the bicycle was to develop a tool that would make it easier for him to travel faster and less tired than the 22-kilometer distance between town and town he lived in. The bike he developed was so good that he did almost all his travels on bicycles.

In 1842, he went to Glascow, which is 64 km away for a job. The invention he made was so interesting that it appeared in the Glascow Herald newspaper. He wrote that the instrument he made was "the devil's invention", that the public had a curious look and a childling to stop. The police were fined 5 shillings for the accident, which was the first bicycle accident. Returning to her town, Macmillan taught Mary Marchbank to use her bike and Mary Marchbank, who ran several times on her bicycle, earned her first female bike ride on the globe.

Older data on the bicycle's invention
Baron Karl Drais von Sauerbronn
German Baron Karl Drais von Sauerbronn invented a kind of bicycle called "Laufmaschine" or "Running Machine" in 1818. Laufmaschine was totally made of woodman and had no pedals. To go forward with the tool, pushing the feet by pressing it, that is, running was necessary. Sauerbronn's bicycle was first exhibited in Paris on April 6, 1818.

The bicycle, invented by the French, Comte Mede de Sivrac in 1790, had no steering wheel. This bike was called Celerifera.

Improvements to these early bikes were made by German, British and French inventors. Popular in the second half of the 17th century, horses were used as examples in the design of these devices. But there were always missing pieces. Some did not have pedals, and some did not have a steering wheel. Hobby Horse, Dandy Horse, Expensive Pedestrian Curricle, etc., which were given to these pioneering bicycle inventions, were also interesting.
The person who invented the bicycle
The first version of the modern bisikletin was made in France in 1860 by Ernest Michaux and his father Pierre Michaux, and became very popular. Ernest Michaux is regarded by many historians as the creator of the bicycle. This French bike had wooden wheels, iron body, steering and pedals. The pedals were attached to the front wheel hub, could rotate 360 degrees and the rear wheels were smaller. It was known as a car that was shaking because it caused too much jarring in cobbled streets in the UK.

In 1869, the French gave the bicycle international name Velocipedes. We even entered our language as velespit and this name has been used for many years.

The bike was still very heavy despite all the improvements and the driving was very hard due to the wheels being made from the wooden wagon. The entire metal and lightweight bike was first introduced in 1870 by British Coventry Makinists Co. James Starley and William Hillman. The most important feature of this bicycle was the use of wire for the first time on its wheels. Starley and Hillman for the introduction of their bikes, 154 km never stop. traveled from London to Coventry in one day.

They made the first-speed bike with improvements to Starley and Hillman's bike. In 1871, this bike was presented to 8 shillows as vitally important, and to 12 shillings as a speedway.

In those years, bicycles were mostly used by men. The idea of women taking on the bike and making a special bicycle for them was considered by Samuel Webb Thomas and patented in 1870. After about four years, serial production began with a few changes made on Starley and Hillman's bike. But the bicycle is complicated pedal system and it is difficult to balance it, because of the elevation due to severe injuries at the time of falling

The first chain bicycle was first made by H.J.Lawson in 1873. The Sussex Dwarf bikes were 58 cm in diameter. In 1879, Lawson further developed the invention. However, this time the front wheel diameter is roughly two times larger than the rear wheel. This bicycle was first presented to the public in an exhibition on February 1880 and was sold on the same date. The first low-bodied women's bicycle, powered by pedals connected to the rear wheel chain, was made sufficiently safe by H.J.Lawson in 1884.

In America, about 1 million bicycles were produced and sold in 1899, with a turnover of more than $ 31 million. But the rise of motorcycles and cars in 1909 caused the US bicycle industry to fall.

In the 1960s and 1970s, air pollution caused by exhaust gases was a major concern, and the energy crisis got worse. In this period, the popularity of bisikletletin increased a lot. bicycle lanes and special bicycle routes were built in some cities. Approximately 82 million bicycles were being used in America in the mid-1980s with these innovations that encouraged the use of bicycles and the support of improvements in the bicycle industry.

The bicycle, which was invented about 200 years ago, is even sold today at a car price.
