Our egos often get in the way of Honesty and Communication. We as humans let our fears of failure and rejection hinder communication.
But why?
Because our egos are meant to protect us here in a physical reality wherein only the strongest survive and historically all one can do is slowly "lose" ground running away from death. Our ego works in many ways to help us, but it is also one of the strongest barriers for we humans to break through when trying to evolve to a higher level of thinking and cooperation.
We humans are Social Beings
We need eachother:
- Babies without human touch have been found to die even if healthy after birth...
- children reared away from other humans and often become "feral"and lose much of their cognative capacity for higher level brain functions the longer they age without human interaction. This condition is nearly impossible to treat in adults who have been this way for an entire childhood
- We even learn from one another by "scaffolding" our own work onto that of masters, teachers and gurus (and everyone can be a teacher to scaffold onto) so we can safely explore while limiting the cost of our failures while maximizing the value we gain from them.
- Studies show that married people on average live longer lives
- And many more we could show here...
But to truly harness the the value of our fellow humans to one another, to truly learn and grow requires honesty and communication both internally and between others. When we do, love and kinship can grow as we begin to simultaneously see how much we do not know and how much we can teach and give to the world from what we do. But only if we honestly assess and attempt to communicate without fear and reprisal from our strange and formidable friend....the ego.

Please watch above how these two people perceived each other when they let their egos get in the way of communication and notice the self inflicted pain that comes from falling victim to their own egos "warnings" so deeply that they cut off the MOST POWERFUL source of love and joy they could ever be blessed with...

Very true. No matter how involved we get in projects (personal or business) we all need the ability to take a step back and view the larger picture.
Outside review, critique (good or bad) is essential to make adjustments and moving forward. Communication is key. If we shut out those channels we are often blind to our own mistakes or their impacts on others. That whole "not seeing the forest for the trees" thing.
Many times our own ideas are not the best, we have to put ego aside and redirect own our efforts to those ideas "we know" are better and nurture those ideas for the better good of the community.

Asking questions can be better than always finding answers. Polling those around you is a good way to see how you and your efforts are perceived.
I try to do that... and it can help. A lot of people want to be polite and not say anything. That's not good when politeness gets in the way of helping someone.

There is a big diferenc in Ego and Self-esteem , as fast one is clear where the line is everyting will be fine . You need to know what you can do but also you have to apriciate the opinion of others . I see in our Discord , even we jouk often about EGO actualy no one want to be on top , this is real team work !

Facebook is rampant with unbridled ego trips. When people are 'safe' behind a monitor, they let their emotions swing. FB can be a toxic space.
