Community Allstar Outreach will use the steemusd from upvotes to this thread to give back to the Gridcoin community's most appreciated members during a special Beyond Bitcoin hangout. We will also explore opportunities to spend the funds rewarded to build mutually beneficial solutions to help Gridcoin and Bitshares form a more symbiotic relationship. Note STEEMUSD Earned from this post will go toward tipping GRC's Allstar community Members and Possibly to help build bridges between communities..

Took me a while to get enough karma to register here, my post from cryptocointalk:
I guess I'll toot my own horn (toot toot); I've been into Gridcoin for over 2 years now, the very early days were a tad heated (small community & switching from POW to POS caused passionate flamewars - mainly caused by myself) but with several thousand new community members over the last couple years it's become a far more active cryptocurrency community & has a very bright future ahead of itself. I also post using the nickname 'derpathon'.
I maintain the official gridcoin website: https://gridcoin.us (non-propriatery: https://github.com/grctest/Gridcoin-Site)
I run a few full nodes: https://grcnode.co.uk https://github.com/grctest/grcnode
Getting added to BTS in the future would be excellent, I've been looking into creating custom beacons (https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/44611-monitoring-selfburn-addresses-for-custom-beacons/) on the Gridcoin blockchain for Gridcoin users to match their BTS account (or other crypto accounts/addresses) to their CPID, meaning we could potentially issue 'user issued assets' proportionally to users BOINC computation. At the moment this could mean distributing an UIA across 2000-6000 users, but the entire BOINC community is in the region of several million users so we've got significant room to grow our userbase.
Several 'all-star' community members (off the top of my head):
Rob Halford (main/lead developer)
Typhoon (Runs a full node & has been a long term member)
RTMoney (Runs http://gridresearchcorp.com)
Sepulcher (Runs http://explorer.gridcoin.asia , the reddit & irc tipbots, a couple misc irc bots, irpg and games on irc and hosts a full node in singapore)
Caraka (Maintains the debian/ubuntu packages)
Marix (Maintains the opensuse/fedora packages)
Katiee (Runs http://pool.gridcoin.co and a couple bots on IRC)
Quez (Quezacotl on IRC - behind PIGrid)
dastholo (Runs several bots to bridge communications between telegram/irc/slack)
There's many Gridcoin users I'll have probably missed out, sorry to those I have missed.
There's a good few dozen gridcoin users that maintain a constant presence on the Gridcoin IRC channel that are a huge credit to the community, without them I'd be pretty bored :P
Great Work Fuzzy!
We might need to increase the frequency or length of hangouts, but it will be great when we can all sit in a hangout with a lot of friendly faces and smart minds and relax with a glass of wine and hear other projects histories, lessons learnt and stories from their community; don't have to go hunting through fud and hype you will get information from some of their strongest members.
This will be valuable information being thrown at you by the people in the know;
I look forward to the future where Beyond Bitcoin community members are the most widely versed people in all crypto projects and seeing projects such and Gridcoin, Bitshares, Steem and many more working together.

I am so glad you appreciate this. Bytemaster told me in a conversation "steemit was made for you fuzzy"...and I told him "something told me the lessons we have learned from beyond bitcoin had something to do with the design".
Still, the platform is so new (and amazing) that I continually just sit there in a near stupor all day, regardless of what else I am doing...just thinking about how we can use steem to ensure bitshares only gets stronger. I am on a mission to figure out ways to leverage steemit posts to pay those in bitshares and other blockchains who do good work, but do not get worker proposals/other compensation.
We all know there are many people in each community who silently live and breath the tech and are willing to sacrifice so much that they often do not have the resources to build what they truly envision for the chain (and community) they love. If we can leverage steem to help build stronger relationships with other passionate crypto nerds, and help pay for things like, say....customized bitshares wallets (like MKR did) for various chains? And so many more possibilities (like I said, my mind has been swimming in ideas nonstop since the launch of steem).
I would also like to do an interview series for people who are the bitshares allstars. :)
Just checked the link to the reddit thread and it already has an answer posted:
"Hi, I would be interested to discuss Gridcoin with you and others!
However, I do not yet quite understand, what exactly is this steemit and what does it have to do with any kind of funds you want to give to people?
Rob, the developer of Gridcoin, is really the one who deserves it all. He created all of Gridcoin on his own, the technology is amazing and still vastly underestimated in the crypto world, the rest of us are really just here to help spread the word about Gridcoin"
