His crowned Prince name was Osifo. Because of the longevity of his father Akengbuda on the throne, he was already advanced in age before he was crowned King.
A story is told of how he plucked grey hair from his head and he sent them to his father suggesting that his father should make way for him to become an Oba. His father in return sent him a mixture of powder chalk and salt showing him how sweet life is and telling him that he was not ready to go yet.
His wisdom at adjudicating matters brought before him when he was still Edaiken made him take the title nme Obanos when he later became the Oba.
Obanosa means, this is God's King.
