After 2 weeks of playing Splinterlands, I thought I'd share sometips so that you don't make the same mistakes I have.
Tip 1:
Don't wait till the end of the season to rent cards and get up to the league you want. This ends up costing you more than the rewards you get. It is best to rent in the beginning of seasons when costs are low. Then as you get to the end, higher as much power as it makes sense for the rewards you get.
Tip 2:
Many people won't tell you this, but make friends and be apart of the community. People in splinterlands are amazing. Alot of friendly people who want to help you succeed and give back. Join the discord and make friends.
Tip 3:
Use this tool to get some hive power for free. https://giftgiver.site/faucet
Tip 4:
Don't buy packs, buy the cards you need. If you are trying to get to silver. Focus on one splinter rather than multiple. Have one back up over time and you should be able to get to silver faster.
Tip 5:
Have fun, this is a game afterall. Enjoy playing and be rewarded for getting better.

Have an awesome day.

It is surely going to help advance players too.
The faucet isn't worth the time spent if you think about it mathematically. You're filling out captchas for less than a cent.
Sure, it's virtually analogous to bending over and picking up a penny. Except you're forgetting that most people getting introduced to this ecosystem are also learning about it's currency, are likely not crypto experts, and they likely aren't going to understand the value of those resources until they need it and then they're going to have a hard time figuring out how to get it. The faucet helps them get something underneath their feet when they start. I don't need the faucet by any means at this point, but I relied on it heavily when I first started getting involved in this ecosystem. Hands down though, if I was given the option to replace ever single advertisement I have to deal with across the net with manually completing giftgiver faucet capchas I'd do it in a heartbeat..And with all of that, we're not even talking going off the deep end by including TensorFlow AI based ML to complete the capchas for you.
