#BeerSaturday is at week 208 and the weather is fixing to provide pints, camp fires and guest beers!
Source: https://www.pinterest.pt/goldensaintbeer/ with a little Zeke design on top.
I became a beer blogger because of the years I have spent brewing for myself, the breweries I work with now on their technology and marketing, and the decades spent imbibing combine for the self-decreed title of the #Blockchain #Beerologist.
This week, I am out in restaurant land, enjoying a smoky campfire, and chugging an artistic guest/gift beer with a friend.
Pint of the Week
The Shorty of the Week will likely be back next #beersaturday as having pints with friends out in the community is cause for celebration too after the lockdown. I actually had a few from which to choose and went with the thin, refreshing exotic beauty. I had the chance to met with my friend Quazi at his restaurant https://rajastratford.ca/ We are fixin' to help with some marketing so there will be more on this place soon but we are here primarily for the beer.
Nothing goes better with zesty and delicious Indian food than a Kingfisher https://kingfisherbeer.co.uk/ Officially launched over 160 years ago, this is probably the most popular Indian beer in the world and was PERFECT for a warm afternoon lunch meeting. Highly recommended!
Bring on Summer Campfires!
Continuing the pattern of non-IPA brews (strange for me!) I am revisiting a neat one from Boshkung Brewing Company. It was featured a month or so ago in a Guest Pint from a fellow up in cottage country enjoying a dock beer. You can see how warm it was this eve from the condensation on the outside of the vessel that is almost appearing to be heated by the fire on the can.
I like a good rye ale and was pretty sure Campfire Rye Ale https://boshkungbrewing.com/collections/shop-all/products/campfire would be a good one judging from past beers from Boshkung. It pours a little darker amber than I had expected and has the right touch of rye malt. What was even more unexpected is that it actually seems to taste like a camp fire! How the hell? Turns out they oak smoked the rye malts and that process lent an authentic smoky spin to the taste.
I am going to have to bust out the coveted seal on this one for the nice change, good brew and unexpected smoky surprise. Well done Boshkung! I am having stronger thoughts of buying that cottage I always wanted for the family now!
One Good Monster
This is a nice guest/gift beer I had to share. Not only is this Good Monster DIPA https://collectiveartsbrewing.com/beers/good-monster/ bold in design, it matches that in double IPA flavour and punch. @evileddy was kind enough to select this one with the help of @parabyte and @sequentialvibe was perfect company while enjoying this during a bro hang at the picnic table.
The artist is Kire Torres https://www.kiretorres.com/ who originates from colourful Peru and the piece is titled Stranded https://collectiveartsbrewing.com/artists/erika-torres-2/ Serious art for a serious brew from a company who both exploits artists for their labels and supports them through exposure. Either way, art and beer go well together and it is nice knowing that a pint can also pay a few pennies to an artist. Perhaps Kire should create a Hive blog and start to sell some NFTs!

How serendipitious, I was just browsing Cascade Hops cuttings and seeds for the newly amended fields.
Judge Judy doesn't believe in serendipity. In her court room of course.
I love me some good old Rye in a beer - adds a nice pepper quality to it all
