366 straight weeks of #beersaturday is a testament to blockchain and fighting for our rights to party!
Being The Blockchain Beerologist definitely has its perks, including but not limited to getting paid to tour breweries and sample new beers! When I am not globetrotting or brewing my own beer, my fridge looks like a colorful mosaic of regional craft beer I enjoy sharing with the #beersaturday alliance of #beer bloggers on #hive.
This week, back by popular demand, part 2 of the IPA Box Set!
Pint 'O the Week!
The PotW is a fan favourite because it is usually a beer enjoyed on the town or otherwise in a social or business setting that we don't get to visit all the time. This week, I took it to the next level as I headed to the big city to pay $16 for an IPA and catch the Jays.
Something special about a pint at a ball game and I might have "A Big Night" post in the chamber for this one.
Flying Monkeys Box Set!
Even recent followers have been crowing about The IPA Box Set from last week. I found it on a shelf when I was looking for some camping beers and only reviewed half of it last #beersaturday. Here is the second half for all those who enjoyed the first.
Squishy!
Yes you read that right. Marshmallow IPA. Surely not a real thing but Flying Monkeys has never really been that in touch with reality. If you know some of their other wild styles, this one comes as no surprise. I even poured it liberally so that it would have a puffy white sweet head.
Squishy Marshmallow IPA really looks like an aperitif. Vanilla Beans, Lactose, Natural Marshmallow Extract, and some sort of Sabro Dry-Hop Addition is like a middle finger to the German Purity Law but I am dedicated to sampling every silly beer across the nation. What the hell is marshmallow extract anyhow?
These guys love their Idaho 7 and Sabro hops but managed to use them really well in this beer. I have never heard of Mosaic used just in dry hopping but it worked in this tasty beer! Did not dissapoint and I would buy it again on its own if it was not exclusively in this mix pack.
Meep Morp
This is another of those beers who make traditionalists or brand designers almost lose their faith in the state of things today. Again, those who don't get the Flying Monkeys joke might roll their eyes at the name and wonder aloud what a High-Density Hop Charge IPA is. Sounds made up! The can design almost reminds me of Rick and Morty and I am a fan so why not?
Meep Morp High-Density Hop Charge IPA does have some advanced brewing civilization to offer. Cryo Hops are created with a rather progressive process producing higher levels of hops acids and oils for a more refined hops strength. 6 hops for the boil and then El Dorado, Mosaic, and Citra in the dry hop stage means they are not messing around.
I gotta throw my coveted seal of approval on this beer of so many weird ones. That many different hops at different stages could turn into a sport-hopped mess but it is really quick well balanced and delicious. Would definitely buy again. Meep Morp to our beer overlords.
#BEERSaturday!
Defnitely AI but Beer Goals are Beer Goals. Big ol' hipster beard and all!
Join me, @detlev , and the other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at this week's Beer Saturday gathering... https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-366
This week for #BeerSaturday, I am inviting @ogfox who has recently discovered new beer while in Sardinia! Take a few pictures, tag #beersaturday and raise a glass with us on Hive!
It's funny how many breweries' names refer to monkies somehow. It kinda makes sense in Czech, as "to have a little monkey" means to be tipsy, but I keep noticing it in other countries too :) If I have time, I'll share a report from a monkey microbrewery in Aachen.
btw where do I apply to become The Blockchain Beerologist too?
Well, squatters rights might indicate I am THE Blockchain Beerologist but you are officially knighted as A Blockchain Beerologist!
Here's to having a little monkey!
Heh, I didn't know knighthood mattered in Canada, but you kinda have a monarch, so it makes sense ;)
Cheers!
The can of this squishy beer looks like a teddy. Lolz.
The taste is gorgeous according to you. Maybe, one day, I may be in the shoes to taste it to confirm your sayings.
For now, enjoy yourself dear beerologist.
Delisious! Thanks!

Thanks a million
Game sounds like a good time.
I am for Squishy, if for just the name. LOL.
Freaking Flying Monkeys! I have to get hold of that beer somehow.
Pretty crazy. Either not as ridiculous as it looks or I am getting used to Flying Monkeys at this point. I doubt they export so you may have to visit to sample.
$16 a beer lol. Yeah, that's a baseball game for you.
That squishy beer is hilarious. It does not sound appetizing based on ingredient but interesting nonetheless. The can is amazing. Love it! 👍
If you have ever had a milkshake ipa (sweet, brewed with lactose sugar) and not hated it, you might like this one. Not too bad!
Sounds like an IPA version of a Milk Stout which also uses lactose sugar. I generally find them to be too sweet but it often depends on the situation as well. Sometimes a sweet beer can be really good.
Oh what delicacies on the table, this is already decadent, I would like a sip or a drop like that, too.😎🍻
Just drunk a cold one yesterday!
These are unique beer I would love to taste one day, but unfortunately it's no where around here
I like how Flying Monkeys blends Idaho 7 and Sabro hops in their IPAs. Mosaic in dry hopping? Surprisingly good 👌👌👌 squishy 👍
Yes I am going to have to use mosaic in a dry hop phase in our beer too.
good luck brother
You had good activities throughout
I love that beer you shared and the the taste is really going to be night
Marshmallow IPA?!!!
I would love to try it if I have chance.
Love the design of the cans as well!
