Greetings thirsty steemians!
Welcome to my first beer post on steemit.
I appreciate the simple yet elegant design. Details like Arthur Guinness signatures give the bottle a more "organic" appearance. Breaking away from a dull round shape.
My table being older than me; I assumed I should show her some respect and quench her thirst first ;)
Check that out. That's some serious big bubbles!
A guy who's doing a good job pretending he knows what he's doing despite having no clue :D
After some more mumbo jumbo rituals that make sense only to some people... who by the way should definitely either stop drinking altogether or buy a new liver on the black market
And tada! I proudly present my 520th beer rating on ratebeer.com
I say "proudly" because on one hand it seems obvious that someone who just started something doesn't really know what he's doing. Same could be said for his second attempt and third and so on.
But on the other hand. Doing the same thing 520 times over and still not really knowing. I call that a performance to be proud of! :D
I almost forgot. You probably noticed the mention of 1801 on its label. It comes as no surprise that it is in fact the work of a scheming marketing department. Actually, "Brewer's source" should already put an inquisitive mind locked on target.
So after a quick fact checking. There was a Guinness West India Porter in 1801 aimed for Irish immigrant working in the West Indies. Which is definitely not this beer. A recipe that became the building block on which they have built their more famous Foreign Extra Stout. Eventually, after what we could call "a frog's leap on a badly drawn children timeline", they made this beer. Some sources point towards 2015.
Happy beersaturday steemians! :)
