Camba Maerzen
Tis week I found a new beer and quickly I did "Open, taste, picture & post" called the #BeerSaturday work. Inspired by the wonderful long posts from @lizanomadsoul I decided to write a bit more and tell you the story of that day.
It was fun to taste this beer
MĂ€rzen from Camba Bavaria
This nice and fresh beer comes with 5.8% ABV and 16 IBU. The taste is fresh but a bit malty which gives the beer a better taste as a typical "Helles"
Peaple say:
A nice copper with a more than two finger foamy head in the glass. Low malty smell, little bit musty. Taste starts malty, some sweetness. Increasing toasted grainy, some hop. Easy drinking stuff, didnÂŽt hurt but has also no real deepness.

Amber hazy with a frothy head.
Fruity, malty smell. Malty taste, a little roasted, with a honey/molasses note. Smooth bitterness and bready ending.

What is a Maerzen
This one is called MĂ€rzen or Marzen or even "Oktoberfest Bier"
The MĂ€rzen is an amber-orange to deep reddish-copper colored malty German amber lager with a clean, rich, toasty and bready malt flavor, restrained bitterness, and a dry finish. The overall malt impression is soft, elegant, and complex, with a rich aftertaste that is never cloying or heavy. Most American versions of Oktoberfest Bier are generally based on this style, and most will recognize this beer as Oktoberfest. Not as strong and rich as a Dunkles Bock. More malt depth and richness than an Oktoberfest bier, with a heavier body and slightly less hops. Less hoppy and equally malty as a Czech Amber Lager. The traditional Oktoberfest Bier, often simply called Festier, is yellow to deep gold color, less intense and less richly toasted than a MĂ€rzen but with a richer body than a Helles, with more hop flavor and higher alcohol. Less rich in malt intensity than a Maibock. The malt complexity is similar to a Czech Pilsener, although without the associated hops.

The story of this day
We had a lot of work with moderation and LIVE stream at a company event. The Hotel of this Event was in a very nice location.
Picture from lh-seeheim.de
That place belongs to Lufthansa and is know for some huge Events.
We had to hang out after a long day of hectic word at this huge and fancy deck to finish our day.
Before the beer and after the job
So, after so much stress and a lot of sitting, me body was crying for some movement.
A quick check with the hotel gave us the information, that there is a nice old historic castle some steps up the hill. That thing is called "Burg Tannenberg" and we decided to take this walking adventure
So, we started our walk up the hill, following that old stones - who show the right direction.
But, they did not tell us that is going so long and so much up the hill.....
... after some more climbing and walking we finally reached the "old bridge" of the castle...
Now we had only a few more step to go to reach the top of the hill and the old parts of the "Burg Tannenberg".
A sign with an old message
It says more or less:
"This is the oldes building of the Burg Tannenberg. The "Muenzenberger-Bau" and this is build in 1232 from Ulrich the first von Muenzenberg"
Finally and what a view....
we reached the top and there is the rest of that old castle.

After a few steps, there is a great view over the whole valley.
Enjoy the short video about the old castle
I found this by my research for this post and you might like it.
But after some 30 minutes, we decided to walk back to the hotel, as the "city rangers" who are not so used to climb hils, got damn hungry and so thirsty.
Hungry - I can eat a plane
After that walk up and down the hill, we arrived quiet hungry at the hotel and I could eat a plane
Some more friends joined the tasting session
After my MĂ€rzen was gone, we found some more friends from this family. There is the "HOPLA" and as well the "4SESSIONS" from the same Camba Brewery
Have a great day everybody
and stay with positive vibes
enjoy #BeerSaturday
