Broken Promises by Greenbush Brewing Company.
In the land of hop contracts, you can't always get what you want. Lucky for us, when brewing their Wheat IPA they found Zythos hops, which lend a serious citrus burst to this fine brew.

I have been really enjoying Greenbush’s beer. I picked up a few on an impulsive buy and they all have been winners. Broken Promises is an American IPA. The color is a reddish/amber with a medium bubble tan/off white head. The head has good retention that turns to larger bubbles which then fades to a light lacy rim.
The aroma is definitely an IPA aroma with notes of hop, pine and citrus. Being that it is a wheat IPA you pick up notes of bread and sweet malt.
The taste is also more complex that a lot of IPAs on the market. It’s sweet which is different, but then turns to a more bitter and sticky hop flavor. It’s also a little spicy or tangy which comes from the wheat.
The mouthfeel is heavier than a typical IPA and is balanced out with a nice amount of alcohol. The carbonation level was lighter than I expected and probably contributed to the heavier mouthfeel.
Overall, I was very pleased with this beer. It was a nice change of pace from your typical IPA. It was so intresting even my dog wanted to try it!
