Trip to Estes Park Brewery

Hey everyone! So I was in Estes Park Colorado earlier this summer at the Scandinavia festival and decided to stop at the Estes Park brewery.

I had been walking around in the heat all day and I was really looking forward to a nice cold beer. First let me tell you about the brewery. It was opened in 1994 Gordon Knight and Ed Grueff with a 4 1/2 barrel system. They eventually upgraded to a 14 barrel system and some transactions were made and as of 2013
Tyler Lemirande became the owner.

When you first walk into the brewery you are greeted with a bunch of merchandise and a counter where you can try a sample of all there flagship beers for free.

After that if you decide to eat or have a pint at the bar all the seating is upstairs so keep that in mind if you are handicapped. They have indoor and out door seating and next to the bar and dining room they have pool tables and some arcade games.

The food is very basic burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips things like that and they are family friendly and have a kids menu. I recommend the blue cheese burger, sweet potato fries and fried pickles.



The beer I had was there summer seasonal bear lake blueberry wheat. Its light and cold and is perfect for a summer day when you are walking around outside a lot and they even put some fresh blueberries in the pint before they pour it.

The beer has a very light blueberry flavor and small amounts of wheat flavor. Its just a very light beer and it pairs well with almost everything except maybe spicy food. I have been to this brewery many times and in the winter the have there Estes Park barley wine in bottles as you leave, you have to pick one up. It is by far my favorite beer they have. It is high alcohol, very malty and the perfect balance of hops. In my opinion its one of the best winter beers Colorado has to offer.

Oh and also right across the parking lot of the brewery there is a place called fun city and it has mini golf, go karts and a few other things so its really good if you have little kids.
