With all the fake or edited pictures on social media and magazines these days, I feel it is important to keep it real and embrace our natural beauty as women. Don't get me wrong, I love looking nice and wearing make up, but as a mother of an 11 year old daughter who will face unrealistic or real images of what the "standard of beauty" is in society....I find it's important to model self love. So, here is an unedited, un-filtered picture of myself with no make-up. You've got to LOVE YOUR SELF- flaws and all. Embrace the natural beauty and inspire others to do the same!! As we adult all know, inner beauty is what really matters and what shines through in everything we do! Let's bring some focus back to that and set an example to the young ladies growing up in this fake, filtered world....
Have a beautiful day!
Going natural is a good thing because too much of makeup kills the natural beauty one has.
Nice shot good friend.
Stay blessed.
What an amazing message that you are giving your daughter. I do a media literacy unit each year with my grade 8 students about self image and how media dictates so much of how we perceive ourselves. Great picture and thanks for sharing.
Thank you for all the good things you pour into our youth everyday! Having those discussions in a school setting and as part of the curriculum is SO important!
Right on and so well said! We need more like you saying these things, sometimes its just needs awareness brought to it and then change can happen.
You probably already know but if not look up 'fast fashion'. Its a very real and accepted norm (disturbing thing) in the fashion world. The basic concept being running ahead of seasons and coming up with any and every reason to get us, women or men, as well but def targeted at women buying more and more clothes. Ultimately creating the most wasteful consumerism beast we've seen to date. Not to mention the stuff is coming from sweatshops half the time... Anyways your post reminded me of this, you are exactly right, we do NOT need these types of things pressuring our children. Lets take our power back!
Nice shot, you look pretty.
Thank you!
inspiring content going on :-P
