Professor Gerald Hawkins was born on this day February, 20th, 1928 in Great Yarmouth, England. His education at the University of Nottingham and with Sir Bernard Lovell, at the University of Manchester, begot him the title of Astronomer; a Professor of Astronomy. He was really into ancient ruins too, and his all time favorite was Stonehenge.
In his very early career, Gerald worked alongside Guglielmo Marconi, the ‘Father of Wireless Telegraph and Radio. ’ Marconi was the first to broadcast Radio Signals across the Atlantic Ocean.
Gerald told me stories about how he was trying to transmit out into the far Universe in hopes of communicating with other Intelligent Entities; what ever the radio waves may evoke….
Yeah, he was into all that stuff, and he was a ‘Pioneer ’ in many respects, bringing Ancient Aliens to the forefront. HA! He even went to Peru to survey the Nazca Lines, checking out their alinements with the Stars. He enjoyed very much working alongside his colleague Maria Reiche, a German Archaeologist whom studied the ground / human aspect of the enigmatic ancient lines.
In 1965, Gerald published, ‘Stonehenge Decoded,’ his most famous achievement to date, proving that Stonehenge was an ancient Observatory built by highly intelligent individuals.
Gerald, with the use of giant mega computers of the day, proved his Mathematical-Astronomical-Archaeological Theory that Stonehenge's layout of her stone pattern grid was astronomically aligned. Curiously, the most significant alignments were Lunar - the Moon, thus the 56 Aubrey Holes and the mathematical astronomical ability to predict a Lunar / Solar Eclipse. The Heel Stone Marker aligns with the Solstices, marking the longest and shortest days of the year. Stonehenge is just another example of the high degree of Natural Science Achievements in which we are so proud of the ‘Barbarians’ for during that era of time, in our space history.
Anyway you look at it, it was definitely a magnanimous feat to construct Stonehenge with such heavy stones. But they surely erected an everlasting beauty in purpose; that purpose being an Observatory. In fact, the stones are so massive, that is where some of the Myths and Legends of ‘Merlin the Magician ’ comes into play; way weird, neat stuff; what Legends are made of type of analogy!
Gerald helped bring Archaeologists and Astronomers together into one field, that being the ‘Archaeo-Astronomy’ field - where both disciplines are used to analyze data for any correlation between the two. Yeah, really!…..really good stuff!
Later on Gerald got into even more weird stuff, that is when he met me in 1991. I was working on mathematical ratios and such with ‘Diatonic ' this and that, and how they related to ‘Sacred Geometry’ and ‘Sacred Sites,’ thus Stonehenge. So Gerald learning of my work, invited me up for the first time to the Cosmos Club, in DC; a VERY super duper, lovely, old Victorian Manor, that turned into a private ‘mad scientist grade’ club for ole Carl Sagan, Gerald and the likes of them…It was very ornate and filled with culture, class and Golden Angels. I was dressed like an official lady and attended by my Colleague, ‘Erol ’, whom worked for the Department of Space Mapping Intelligence within the U.S. Department of Defense. We had a lovely lunch, we never separated after that.
Gerald was into Astronomy and flat land 2 dimensional geometry (sometimes 3, but not too often) e.g., the Euclid and Pythagorean Mode way, and I was into Astronomy and Hyper Dimensional Geometry; it was great = Ying/Yang. He took me under his wings and Mentored me; he adopted me like I was his Daughter; he loved my own Child as his own Grandchild; he acknowledged my Love for him, and we were together until he passed. I still love him.
I acknowledge Professor of Astronomy, Gerald S. Hawkins, Ph.D., as a great contributor to the Natural Sciences and our greater understanding of our history here on planet Earth.
I love you Gerald………..See ya out there somewhere…..
Love, Me
