It is one of the best tourist destinations of India. It is the 27th state of India and is popularly known as the “Lands of Gods”, as the state abounds in pilgrimage centres. The enchanting land is blessed with several tourist attractions, which plays an important role in the economy of the state. From snow-capped mountain peaks to scenic beauty, hill stations, beautiful valleys, pilgrimage centres and fascinating wildlife, the wonderful Uttaranchal has so much to offer to its tourists.

Location
Covering an area of 51,125 sq km of which 93% is mountainous and 64 % is covered by forest, Uttaranchal is a state located in the northern part of India. Uttaranchal is a part of the Western Himalayan range starting from the Shivalik foothills to Greater Himalayas.

The charming land of Uttaranchal boasts of several tourist attractions such as wildlife sanctuaries, trekking routes, glaciers, passes, meadows. The famous wildlife sanctuaries of the state are Jim Corbett National Park, Rajaji National Park, Nanda Devi National Park and Govind National Park. Haridwar, Rishikesh,Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath, Bhimgoda Kund, Kedarnath, Chakrata hill resort, Dehradun, Almora, Ranikhet, Mussoorie hill station, Garhwal and Kumaon are some of the most happening tourist destinations of Uttaranchal.
