Beat Battle League Week Ten

Holy smokes what an epic Week Nine with eight (8) incredible entries. Week Ten is poised to keep the producers on Steemit on their toes.

The judging panel of: @chiefmappster, @vandigital, @danyelk, and @instrumentals are so excited for the switch-up for Week Ten of the League. Thank you to OG Tech Shaman @jphenderson for his continual support of the League.

The Beat Battle League will be accepting submissions for Week Ten until October 25 at 11:59PM CDT / 4:59 UTC with the winners being announced on Thursday, October 26.

Without further adieu, here are the details for Week Ten of the Beat Battle League:

The rules are simple in the Beat Battle League.

Just make an original Grime submission and use the #beatbattle tag and/or comment your submission on any Beat Battle post.

Grime is a style of music from the U.K. and mixes electronic music, hip-hop, and dance hall (among many other influences). It is blowing up in the United Kingdom and Europe with Wiley, Skepta, and JME being brand names. Drake is signed to JME and Skepta's label BBK (Boy Better Know).

The music brings such energy and is usually around 130-140 BPM.

Here is an example Grime instrumental provided for more perspective into Grime. It also provides an awesome example of a video for an instrumental.

Remember the entries are judged on:

• Sound Quality: does this shit sound crispy, in speakers and headphones, is there cracking or recording errors? How loud can we play it before you notice quality issues? etc

• Technicality: what are the skills you displayed in making this beat? The technical aspects of the your craft. The layers and sounds do they match? How many? etc

• Creativity: how unique your entry is. How well it revolves around the universal theme? O shit we have never heard that sound before? Stuff like that.

Also, sharing the story about the creation of your art in your Steemit post helps the judging panel and community gain perspective and knowledge on yourself and the message you are sharing.

The Beat Battle League will be accepting submissions for Week Ten until October 25 at 11:59PM CDT / 4:59 UTC with the winners being announced on Thursday, October 26.

The prize pool is as follows:

FIRST PLACE WINNER: 65 Whaleshares + 20 SBD for a total of 85 Points

SECOND PLACE WINNER: 50 Whaleshares + 10 SBD for a total of 60 Points

THIRD PLACE WINNER: 40 Whaleshares + 6 SBD for a total of 46 Points

FOURTH PLACE WINNER: 30 Whaleshares + 4 SBD for a total of 34 Points

CROWD FAVORITE: 15 Whaleshares + 10 SBD + 5 SMOKE for a total of 30 Points

The crowd favorite can be awarded to any Steemian with any entry this week. So the first place winner could win additional rewards or it could be another Steemian. All depends on you the Steemit community :)
