To beard, or not to beard

This is a picture of my beard in November ‘17 before I decided to shave, admittedly I was in need of some trimming to make it a tad nearer.

My beard is an addition I adapted during my time at Univeristy, for three main reasons.
The first reason is because I am a smoker, which means I can be forgetful at times (depending on what I’m smoking 😉). This resulted in me not having any identification when trying to purchase tobacco, and as is the case with a lot of guys, I look like a child without facial hair. I have repeatedly found that the same shops that ask me for ID without a beard, don’t bat an eyelid when I am bearded up.

The second reason is admittedly nothing that my own fault. Upon arriving at Univeristy, I really embraced the student lifestyle.
Shaving was not high on my list of priorities because let’s be honest, it’s a pain in the ass.

One con that has come with having a beard though, is going to the barbers.
They ask what I want to do with it, so I ask them the same thing every time “make me not look like a homeless man”, and every time the trim it so it’s basically just stubble!

I’ve had a lot of mixed reviews about my beard but in all honesty, I keep it because it helps me lead a slightly easier life :)
