Beef BBQ Brisket
Ingredients:
2-3 kg beef brisket
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper (optional for a spicy version)
500 ml beef broth or water
250 ml BBQ sauce (you can use store-bought or make your own)
Cooking oil
Instructions:
Start by preparing the spice rub. In a bowl, mix together salt, brown sugar, ground black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, and red pepper (if using).
Pat the beef brisket dry with paper towels and then rub the spice mixture all over the brisket. Let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
Preheat your grill or oven to a low temperature (around 120-150°C).
If you're grilling, set up a two-zone grilling area (one side with direct heat, the other without) or prepare a roasting pan for the oven.
If grilling, place the brisket on the side of the grill without direct heat (indirect zone). If using an oven, place the brisket in the roasting pan.
Slowly grill or roast the beef brisket for 4-6 hours until the meat is tender and easily falls apart. During grilling or roasting, regularly baste the brisket with BBQ sauce every 30 minutes to create a nice caramelized and moist surface.
When the brisket is done, remove it from the grill or oven and let it rest covered with foil for about 15-20 minutes.
After resting, slice the beef BBQ brisket against the grain into thin slices and serve it with extra BBQ sauce and your choice of side dishes, such as roasted potatoes, corn on the cob, salads, or anything else you prefer.
This recipe for beef BBQ brisket is perfect for summer grilling or as a special dish for celebrations and family gatherings. You can be sure your guests will be delighted with the flavor of this hearty grilled meal! Enjoy!
