Hi community!

At the presentation of the book 'Jo vaig viure a la Masia' (I Lived at La Masia), by journalist Xavi Torres, the Barcelona president explained that he will carry out this idea.

"He should have a statue like Cruyff and Kubala. He's one of those iconic players who have influenced us all. We're working on it, and obviously, his family has to agree," the Barcelona president stated.

"He deserves the most beautiful tribute in the world," he said about the Argentinian, who has "the doors open" to return.

During the presentation of the book 'Jo vaig viure a la Masia' (I Lived at La Masia), by journalist Xavi Torres, Joan Laporta announced that Barcelona will pay tribute to Leo Messi and erect a statue of the Blaugrana legend. Along with those of Johan Cruyff and Kubala, it would be the third in the vicinity of the Camp Nou. He made the announcement in a room filled with prominent figures from the world of football, especially from the Barcelona community.

"We would love it. I think all Barcelona fans would love to have a statue of Leo Messi where the great figures in Barça's history stand," Laporta explained at the event. "I'm sure he'll be linked to the club again. I don't know what he'll do when his career at Inter Miami ends, but he knows the doors are open. We have absolute respect and admiration for Leo. He deserves the most beautiful tribute in the world," commented the president, who elaborated on the idea: "In the board, with my colleagues, we always think that something more should be done for Messi. He should have a statue at the Camp Nou, like Cruyff and Kubala. It would be only right that Leo also have his own because they are those iconic players who have influenced us all. We are working on it. Obviously, his family has to agree. When the time comes and we have the design for this statue, we will propose it. We, as Barça fans, would love it."

The presentation, held at La Casa del Libro bookstore, was attended by a large contingent of Barça fans. In addition to the president, those present included Rafa Yuste, Enric Masip, Miquel Camps, Joan Soler, Jordi Finestres, Xavier Barbany, and Andrei Xepkin, director of La Masia, as well as many other club members and staff. The event was hosted by Jordi Ferré of Cossetània Edicions.

Other figures associated with the club who attended the event included Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira, former heads of the club's youth academy; former vice-president of finance Eduard Romeu; and Iván de la Peña, a former player who also represents several youth players. Guillermo Amor and Jofre Mateu were also present.

The book delves into and reflects on the La Masia phenomenon. It examines how many athletes have lived there, those who have reached the elite level and those who have fallen by the wayside, the differences between the first residents and the current ones, and the center's educational project. Amor and Josep Lluís Moragues, who spent eight years of his life living at the Barça academy, spoke at the event, as did former cooks from the center: Madia, Fernando, and Josefina.

Miquel Olmo, Dani's father, also spoke. "I've always felt privileged to live surrounded by football. La Masia is a way of understanding life. Dani was there from his first year as a youth player to the cadet level. At first, he lived at home. When he entered La Masia, we understood that there were a series of values that he would learn more than at home and that would help him," he explained.

Recently, Leo Messi visited the Spotify Camp Nou at night, along with his friend Rodrigo De Paul and Pepe Costa, just before traveling to Elche, where this Thursday he trained in front of thousands of fans.
