A mass of hate was poured over the Battlefield V trailer. I understand this hate, if it does not apply to women and blacks

The three most salty places in the world are currently Antarctica, the Dead Sea and the Battlefield fans forum on the Reddit platform. Series enthusiasts leveled the trailer of the new game with the ground, for many reasons. I understand some of them. Part of it is so idiotic that it's difficult to find words of understanding for some of the comments.

If you have not seen the Trailer of Battlefield V yet, you can see it below. It's best a few times, because it's hard to say what's going on. The action is overly intense. Exaggerated colors. The figures move like in the rain, and the intensity of falling elements from the sky exceeds the average precipitation. The heroes are jumping from the second floor like professional parkorers. The material is a bizarre hybrid of computer animation and something like an imitation gameplay:

The Trailer of Battlefield V did not like the fans of the series. Speaking the most and most delicately.
The EA presentation critics are not a homogeneous group. One can distinguish several fundamental reasons why advertising material has gained such a huge negative publicity. Each of them is different. Relevant part. Part of an idiotic, backward and putting fans of video games in the worst possible light. These reasons are:

The lack of climate of the Second World War
Too intense, too exaggerated action
Unrealistic, colorful graphics going towards Fortnite
Elements inconsistent with history (a katana on the back of a soldier)
The presence of female soldiers
The female character has a prosthesis
The presence of black soldiers.
I consider myself a centrist, slightly hesitant towards reasonable conservatism. For this I value games that put the historical truth as an important reference point. However, even I do not understand, I do not really understand the indignation of the fact that the advertising material includes female soldiers and black figures. You must have a bad will to refuse girls and black men in the network video game.

Of course, at this point the voices will rise: "but immediately, the same is inconsistent with the historical truth!"
These voices will be absolutely right. The possible presence of black fighters (because they are not necessarily soldiers) defending France in 1940 against a German blitzkrieg is a topic on which lovers of modern history can conduct really interesting conversations. For sure I would learn many interesting facts from them. The whole point is that the trailer of Battlefield V does not show the Nazi offensive. This is a bizarre presentation of multiplayer mode, in which all tricks are allowed.

The fact that the first trailer shows a substitute for the online game is best demonstrated by a fragment from 75 seconds. The viewer then sees the multiplayer interface of the Conquest mode appearing, with the flags of the flag to take over, the number of points, the tactical minimap, the killlog, and so on. I have no doubt that DICE wanted to capture on the material a foretaste of the multiplayer game together with a team of friends. He wanted to show multiplayer, in which historical facts fall into the background, and the most important becomes a satisfying and impressive game.

The fact that we are dealing with the mutliplayer mode is best demonstrated by the figure of a woman with a prosthesis. This one is shot at the beginning of the clip while getting the ground floor. However, by some miracle he comes back several dozen seconds later, saving the skin of the main character of the trailer. She is fully healthy, has no blood or signs of inferior physical condition. So typical respawn on the team member, characteristic of the Battlefield series.

In multiplayer modes for years, you can create an avatar choosing its sex, race, skin tone and mass of other variables.
If I can show off my friends in a Cossack black coat, with a metal prosthesis instead of one hand, an eye patch and high officer boots, I will do it without hesitation. I will have no idea that on a Norwegian map drawn in the Conquest mode no soldier should look like this, as I have in my mind, that playing on a winter map in BF4 my soldier looks like he was on a mission in the hot Middle East. At this point, it's just the fight, the flags and the K / D ratio that counts.

Personalization of the avatar is in some network shootings half of fun. Getting so-called skins for Overwatch, Call of Duty or PUBG is a very important element of these games. Thanks to them, players can not only stand out from the crowd, but also have to go back to the game servers. They hunt for favorite sets of weapons, armor and cosmetic items, which significantly extends the life of the network title.

Of course, a super-powerful woman with a hook instead of a hand may seem peculiar, knocking out of the second-year coat of arms an element of fun on the servers. Battlefield has never been a title that exaggerates network authenticity. If I want uniforms that perfectly match the environment and serious battlefield simulation, I turn on the second or third ARMA. Wanting an old school experiencefrom the realities of the Second World War I am firing on the capital's Red Orchestra 2.

The question of whether women and blacks defended France should not be raised when it comes to multiplayer.
On servers of a popular mainstream game like Battlefield everyone should be able to create an avatar with which he feels best. Of course, within certain limits and certain broad, overarching artistic coherence. However, you really do not have the heart to write your female friends and black fellow players from this image, because they do not fit on someone's line of acceptable multiplayer skins. The modes in which the WIN WINNER DECIDE THE NUMBER OF FLAG MATERIALS HOLDED, THE MAGIC GROUPS ARE ESTABLISHING THE EARTH, AND THE PLAYERS WILL REPORCE AFTER DEATH. The modes in which the ally resuscitate with a syringe, and the first-war tanks move at the speed of modern machines. If someone wants to cling to authenticity, let them start with these trifles.

Let us have no doubts - I also think that the material presented by EA is below expectations. However, not because of women, prostheses and blacks. My problem with the trailer is that you do not feel the Battlefield spirit in it completely. There is no power, this wealth of possibilities. A typical overgrowth of form over the content. When I first saw the trailer of the Battlefield 1 game, I had genuine shivers. Watching a clip promoting BFV, at most I lift my eyebrows in a gesture of surprise.

As a representative of the broadly understood press, I had the pleasure of participating in a closed presentation of the upcoming shooting. The strangest thing is that the media show was much, much better. Filled with fragments of gameplay on the game engine, as well as full of flavor and small details. Participating in the event behind closed doors, I could not wait for Battlefield V to come into my hands. In turn, watching the online presentation for all players, I felt only disappointment. That's why I perfectly understand those who pour buckets on DICE. I would probably do it myself, if not for a great, secret presentation with the participation of producers. The game offers great news, but everything has been obscured by a fatal commercial clip that should never see the light of day.
