With the NBA a month away from tip off. Let's have a good look at the offseason and all that has transpired from the last time I made a post. There is a lot to talk about!
The big one

Obviously, I have to start off with the biggest news. After almost 2 months of rumours and speculation about Kyrie Irving's future, he has finally been traded to the Boston Celtics. The package includes All-star, Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, Brooklyn's 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2020 second-round pick via Miami all in exchange for Kyrie Irving.
The trade is a big as most of the Boston core have been traded away and the flipside being that Isaiah Thomas will be sidelined for the majority of the season with a hip injury. Many would look for a winner and a loser in a trade and as far as this trade is concerned, I see real winner or loser of this trade. I think the outcome is the best possible one that could have been found.
The Houston Rockets have been sold

The Houston Rockets have been sold for $2.2 billion, a record for an NBA franchise. The team has been sold to a billionaire by the name of Tilman Fertitta a local man. This sale has had a large impact on the market for the valuation of NBA teams as a valuation came out of the NY Knicks being valued at $3.5 billion. This to me is a clear indication of how the global love for the NBA is still growing and higher value teams just means higher value entertainment!
