Manna Distribution #19

in #basicincome6 years ago

Like clockwork, we hit Thursday again which means manna distribution day.

Today, we were able to send tokens to over 168,275 people.

A week ago, we sent out distribution to 162,000 people. The past 7 days saw an increase of over 6,275 sign ups. This puts the UBI distribution total at 168,275 . It is a seven day increase of over 3.9%.

Thank you to all those who contributed to our drive to raise money to help support manna on the open market. We feel the token buyback program will help those who depend upon manna as a part of their income by establishing some buying pressure.

Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

We are also grateful to those who continue to pass out their referral link in an effort to grow our community. This is a "we" project. Poverty is a huge problem that is going to require as many hands as possible. Spreading the word is not something we can do on our own.

To get your weekly distribution of manna, go to https://www.mannabase.com to sign up.

I was talking with my 13 year old daughter @nabithecat (new to steem) about manna... and universal income.... love to see how it is growing and we are both committed to get signed up and learn more. Cos it is an IDEA whose time has come!!!

We agree. It is crucial to spread the word throughout the world.

Be sure to use your referral link. It will get yourself and the person you refer some extra tokens.

What is you consensus method? accord to coincheckup.com it is POW and POS

@mannacurrency I saw a screen-dump of a Manna dashboard without referral bonuses, and the payout was down to about 2 Manna per week. I expect this payout to go way lower, with more signups. And it made me think: If this weekly payout suppose to have an impact any place in the world, what kind of coin value are you hoping for/expecting?

Personally I would say the well known projects is at least in the top 200, and I believe Manna have the possibility to reach a placing in the top 200 trough its network, and the idea of UBI. That may give Manna a token value of about a dollar. But a 1 dollar Manna, and a payout of a fraction of a Manna per week, is still a limited income most places. It would be interesting to get your opinion in this subject.

There are only 2.5B manna total. That is not a lot for a currency. Using your $1, that is only $2.5B in circulation...we would expect a well used currency to amount to much more.

We cannot speculate on values or what the price will be; that might be taken as financial advice.

What we can say is we are going to be adding many different layers to the project. There will be the childrens wallets set up by the end of the year where children will receive the tokens with a release when they reach the age of majority. This will take tokens off the open market.

Also, we are going to have a direct giving program which will allow those who need funds to post on the site and others can donate directly to them.

Thanks for reply :) I value your feedback

Interesting that you're trying to boost the price of Manna in fiat instead of making fiat less important for Manna's value. I would have thought you would want to focus on the barter system, so that people can trade Manna for goods and services without having to go into fiat first. I don't see how the price of Manna is ever significant without charity buy backs if people are always cashing it out for fiat. So long as it is worth enough to be worth the time it takes to make the transaction, the price can go lower and lower still. Nothing is there to make it go higher except the charity buy backs, which can't be relied upon indefinitely.

Unless someone can use Manna to buy things for less than they would pay with fiat. If someone wants to buy something now and it will cost them less to use fiat to buy Manna then use Manna to buy the item within your internal exchange, then that will put some upward price pressure on Manna. If one hasn't been a member long enough to accumulate the amount they want to spend, but does have fiat, this might work.

The key to either direct barter without fiat or buying Manna with fiat without it being charity is the internal barter exchange. To me that's the top priority. Where does it stand in your list of priorities though?

While we can't speak for the Manna team, we run a project that does what you're describing, Manna Basics, and the prices are currently set for a conversion rate of 100 Manna = $1. Another site, Merchant of Manna, uses the same rate and also allows others to list tasks they'll perform, similar to fiverr, to be paid in either Manna or USD.
