Step 3: carefully peel off the dark layer around the seed.

Step 4: insert toothpicks into the avocado seed at slight upward angles. Be careful not to put the toothpicks into the seem line of the seed, because that is where the seed will break open and sprout.

Step 5: fill up a cup of water enough to where the bottom of the avocado seed will be submerged, but the top is still dry.

Step 6: sit back and watch your avocado grow! :)

After a few weeks your avocado will start sprouting roots!

I saw someone has mentioned the same method to plant avocado seeds. It emphasizes this method must work well. I too must try this method. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Yay! Can't wait to have our own avocados growing :)

I did some research recently. A full grown avacodo tree will give you about 500 bucks a year. Plant 10 of those suckers and youll make some serious dough my friend.

Wow! That's awesome! Thanks for sharing that with me! I'll be sure to plant some more :) I've heard they can get a bit finicky though.

Congratulations on sprouting it! I have a seed in a cup for about 4 weeks now (I read it takes between 2-6) but I don't think its going anywhere.

Looking forward to seeing some updates on this! Good luck.

Thanks so much! Don't lose faith! I didn't think mine was going to sprout, but it finally did! :)
