The colossal Stratolaunch held its first acceleration race on Wednesday (28/2) at Mojave airport in the United States. According to the manufacturer, Stratolaunch Systems, during the test runway the aircraft reached the speed of 74 km / h (see video below). The test is a preparation for the inaugural flight of the giant aircraft, expected to take place between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.
Stratolaunch is the world's largest wingspan aircraft, measuring 117.5 meters from one end to the other, surpassing the legendary Hughes H-4 Hercules of the late 1940s - and nearly 30 m of advantage over the wingspan of the Antonov AN-225, the largest airplane in the world in length and maximum takeoff weight.
