Autis-tips & Chewlery

in #autism6 years ago

Greetings fellow autistics and autism allies,
As usual,
• We are all different so remember, when you’ve met a person with autism, you’ve met only one person with autism.
• This is not sponsored by any brand or company that may be mentioned.

Why Using Chewables?

Lots of people with sensory needs stim by chewing on their lips, tongue, fingers, or objects. This can lead to small injuries or the breaking of things. Although, stimming, or self stimulating behaviour, is a very important part of self regulation. Chewable accessories can be a good replacement behaviour.

Short Reviews

  1. Stimtastic

https://www.stimtastic.co/
Price range: less than 10$ CAD a piece
Pros: Lots of variety, owned by a person with autism, beginner’s packs available for those who can’t choose, the owner is easy to contact and open to new ideas, carries lots of chewables, fidgets, and pencil cases to store the stim tools, you can choose the colour of certain pendants, there is a grid to help you choose the chewable that suits you, original pendants.
Cons: Only an online boutique, the toughness of the chewies cannot be personalised.

Stimtastic is my personal favourite. I own many pieces from them and I enjoy them very much. I will most likely order again. Here's my first order:
