The Lake of Constance is also called Bodensee in German words.
This is our first walk of the year as a family.
The lake is situated where Germany, Switzerland, and Austria meet. Its shorelines lie in the German states of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, the Swiss cantons of St. Gallen, Thurgau, and Schaffhausen, and the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. The Rhine flows, as Alpine Rhine, into the lake from the south, with its original course forming the Austro-Swiss border, and has its outflow on the Lower Lake where - except for Schaffhausen - it forms, as High Rhine, the German-Swiss border as far as the city of Basel. The shores of Lake Constance have been a popular destination for Germans, Swiss, and Austrians for decades. The lush green forests that surround the lake are also home to many animal species, such as deer and foxes.
This is not the first time I walk in the trails. But each time I came here, there are always a surprising environment. Such as today, on new years day, was windy and foggy. It was called.
Let me show you some interesting images I have taken during the walk.
Thousands of Clamps looking Shells
The shores have many shells that look like clamps. There were thousands of them just like it was flashed by the waves from the lake.
Rock balancing stones are a form of art that has been practiced for centuries. The practice consists of the artist stacking several rocks on top of one another in order to create a sculpture.
Rock balancing stones are often found in national parks, alongside hiking trails, or in gardens. The beauty of these sculptures has led people to find ways to use them as decorations.
The Black and white images of the trees
Blurry black and white images of a forest can be seen from a distance. Large, aged trees stand tall and point to the sky, as some branches brush the ground where others reach upwards for more light. The carpet below these branches is lush and green, with some undergrowth poking through as swaying leaves rustle in the breeze.
These mists are a great mystery to me, I came so closed it that the tip of my lens got really wet.
Mist forms of art when you take a very close-up photo with it. It is invisible if you just look at it from a distance.
Feels like the springtime
The first time you see the new leaves on the trees, it is hard to believe that they will ever turn brown. The yellow, orange and red colors fill your heart with warmth and make you truly appreciate nature. They are magical!
The Mistletoes
The Mistletoe is a parasitic plant that is often overlooked as a holiday decoration. In fact, it's really a weed that cannot survive without human intervention. The plant produces berries that are pulpy with seeds and if left on the ground they can spread to new locations.
In most cases, the berries are eaten by birds who then poop the seeds out and the cycle continues.
Why do My Husband and I kiss under the Mistletoes?
It's one of the most romantic gestures in the world. A kiss under the mistletoe. It has been a tradition that my husband follows from his parents. Kissing under the mistletoe brings happiness and good luck for the couples. So why not?
The next time you see a mistletoes, please kiss your partner.
These has been our first walk for this year as a family here in Austria.
I hope you enjoy the images and the story behind it.
