Quite a while ago, maybe at the start of the year, there was a red onion that had started to sprout in the cupboard, so I just planted it into a bucket that had soil to see what happened (I do a lot of see what happens gardening!) and pretty-much forgot about it, just gave it a hit of water when I watered the rest of the garden and figured when the green sprouts started to die off it would be ready!
It’s stayed green for most of the year but just started dying off this month so I figured I would tip them out today and see what was in there 😊
I’m pretty impressed! It looks like they have the length, not the width but it’s understandable, 8 onions trying to grow inside one normal sized bucket, there’s not going to be too much space for them. I did put the whole onion in the pot without trying to seperate them so I know for next time but I’m quite pleased with this experiment 😎
Hand for scale!
The backyard garden is going so well 😊
