Hey everyone! This subject is turning out to be quite big so PART 1 (PART 2 WILL BE UPLOADED SOON), So quick little background, Im an Australian born male and I would say that I have an interest in learning about things like wikileaks (Julian Assange, Aussie legend in my opinion!), CIA/MI6, Snowden, all whistle blowers so essentially I mean I like to question things and have looked into a lot of the conspiracy theories which to be frank a lot of them now cant be called "theories" they have been either leaked, declassified or damning evidence proven something other then the "Offical story" so with everything that has happened I do see that "conspiracies" are possible and do happen. anyway just wanted to say that I do enjoying knowing whats going on in the intelligence agencies etc etc.
So when I happened to stubble upon an agency called ASIS - Australian Secret Intelligence Service, I was really shocked that as an Australian i'd never heard of it really (yes, only 22yo) but nevertheless I was hearing about these other intelligence agencies like CIA, MI5/6, FBI to name a few before i was even out of primary school, So anyway I decided to dig a little and see maybe if there's a reason its sorta kept out of the public eye/main stream media unless your looking for it online.
As I have only known they even exist for a couple days, i havn't had a lot of time to look into it couple hours a day but already there is so much interesting stuff! I have decided because there is so much to learn, I have already got 5 more videos to watch and some news articles and other bits to read, this subject will need Part 1 & 2 at least!!
ok, ASIS is part of the Australian Intelligence Community and was formed in 1952, but its existence remained secret even within the Government until 1972.
Its Charter of 15 December 1954 described ASIS's role as "to obtain and distribute secret intelligence, and to plan for and conduct special operations as may be required" and ASIS was expressly required to "operate outside Australian territory."
A nice little clip for a little crash course on ASIS
History lesson: Australian Secret Intelligence Service -
1 November 1972- the existence of ASIS was exposed by The Daily Telegraph which ran an story regarding "The recruitment of ASIS agents from Australian universities for espionage activities in Asia". over the roughly ASIS's 60 years or the 40years publicly acknowledged they have been examined by 3 seperate royal commissions, the first 2 in done in 1970s-1980s by Justice Robert Hope who's reports where never made public...
In 1983- ASIS ran a training exercise, where trainees with machine guns smashed into a hotel room without permission! in a "mock hostage rescue" then ran out into "get away cars"...... Witness: "there were 5 guys with with the biggest guns i've ever seen in my life" interviewer: the submachine guns?" Witness: "well yeah as i found out yeah submachine guns i wouldn't know one gun from the other" As a result ASIS has its convert operation function abolished (had their guns taken off them essentially) The service continued to come under scrutiny, it was criticised for its work in Papa New Guinea in the late 80's and by 1990s there were claims their offices simply "were out of control"
I really like this short "Anonymous" video which has great information that you can take what ever way you want.
#Anon #Newz The Australian Secret Soldiers Legal or Not?- -
In 2001 the Howard government announced that ASIS would get there guys back for the reason "if ASIS was going to be doing intelligence gathering overseas in some of the worlds most dangerous places they needed to be armed if only for self defence"
Now I AM all for Australia having an intelligence network, absolutely!, but if you watched the above video I disagree with Australians putting their life on the line over seas conducting "operations" and in places where we are not at war! Africa (ie. Zimbabwe, Kenya and Nigeria) WE SEND SOLDIERS/INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS TO PLACES AUSTRALIA IS NOT AT WAR... I don't understand why?
SO AS I SAID BEFORE I REALLY FEEL THIS SUBJECT DESERVES A PART 2 DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION THERE IS IF YOU DIG, PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEOS, just come to your own decisions using the information.
Ok so FOLLOW ME to see when part 2 is up (already working on it!) and to see my other stories on other great topics, i'm still new only a week so there will be a lot more videos coming! I will follow you back too ;)
ALSO please UPVOTE if you like the topic and want me to keep updating you with part 2 and possibly part 3 +
You should do some research on the "5 Eyes" - which is how major governments of the world get past the legislation in their own countries that prohibit them from spying upon their citizens domestically by having surveillance conducted by other intelligence communities in other countries for them instead.
