RE: Atheists and Anti-Theists

in #atheist6 years ago

Do atheists exist? By their very name they measure themselves against God. They claim to "disbelieve or lack belief in the existence of God". So what does that exactly mean in the absence of God? Am I an "abunyanist" because I disbelieve or lack belief in Paul Bunyan?

In fact, all atheists are in truth anti-theists. In their hearts they know there is a God, but they do not like Him. They do not wish to have been born in a world created by God. They pretend to disbelieve in God and they invent all kinds of rationales for excusing themselves from this belief. They attempt to explain the universe in strictly material terms for the same reason that Jefferson excised the miracles from his version of the bible. They are offended by God's intrusions into their orderly theories. They are wowed by scientism and fantasize about conforming the universe to their desires, and they don't want God waking them up from their dream world.

A world without God would be a carnival of short-lived pleasures followed by amassing wealth followed by an obsession with death. No surprise then to see increasing numbers of adult children following this modernist trend and claiming that they are atheist. But we know better. They claim to seek freedom from morality but in fact seek immunity from the consequences of immoral acts. They chain themselves and invite the rest of us to join them.

Atheists think they have replaced love of God with love of science, but that's just another self-delusion. Science is unlovable; it can be, at best, only an unhealthy obsession. Atheists really want nothing more than to complain to God about the state of the world. They can't hurt God and so they try to hurt us instead, by trying to undermine our faith. But why not take your complaints straight to the top? Job complained to God and he was beloved by God for it. Atheists hate God, and that's the first step towards loving Him. Don't forget the story of the Prodigal Son and what happens to lukewarm Christians. The best revenge is a seat at the table.
