Fascinating news comes to us from scientists from the Center for Astronomical Research and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. They inform that during the research they noticed the fossil remains of organic matter in a Martian meteorite that was discovered 40 years ago on our planet.
Astrobiologists believe that these are further evidence of the existence of biological life in the turbulent history of this planet. Most likely life blossomed on this barren planet today over 3 billion years ago, when it resembled Earth in its appearance. Later unclear events led to the loss of an important atmosphere and surface sterilization.
Researchers found traces of microorganisms in the ALH-77005 meteorite, discovered four decades ago by Japanese scientists at Allan Hills in Antarctica. Hungarians believe that mineralized organic matter resembles terrestrial bacteria. This is not the first time that this type of discovery has been made on Earth. The most famous meteorite that contains the traces of Martian microbes is Allan Hills 84001.
