In developing and enhancing self-confidence, self esteem and self worth factors of the personality, we can truly liberate ourselves from self imposed limitations in our lives. In abolishing limitation, by overcoming our fear and reluctance of updating our automatic reaction habit patterns, we allow ourselves the potential for complete success and fulfillment. Self confidence and self image are important, but the foundation of self-liberation is to update what we believe about our self. A prerequisite for establishing goals and using our ideas benefi¬cially is self-approval, or as we will term it here, self worth. That approval has to be on a holistic level, both in the ten percent and in the ninety percent. This will require the updating of, among other things, elimination of guilt over past situations and conditions. We should approve of the methods we use, the means that we use, and the goals themselves, otherwise, there is conflict within us and we may sabotage our projects and successes. Any time there is inner conflict, we are not operating with our full strength and power. To be at the point where we approve of all of ourselves requires constant practice and progress. Using the activation gestures, while looking at your hands when doing them, and saying the accompanying words and seeing the visualizations stimulate your ninety percent to participate in the ten percent’s program of motivation and willingness to dramatically improve the conditions and situations in your life.
In the last exercises we talked about the HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO USE THE GESTURES. The ancients say that if the tools are not used, the job does not get done. Just thinking the words accompanying the gestures is not enough. What the gestures and accompanying words do is activate the unconscious processes to take action. It is the physical demonstration that produces the mind body spirit connection. The gestures are: The intervention gesture (which is the touching of the four fingers to the thumb, fingers pointing upward) and the insight gesture (the open palm), and the updating gesture (touching thumb to index finger while saying “That was then”, and, moving the hand out to the side of the body, while saying “This is now” and then, moving the hand farther to the side away from the body and opening the hand wide, while saying “And I have updated and changed”), and the gesture of sincere gratitude (which is folding the four fingers onto the palm, with the thumb extended outward, then, at the prompt ‘what are my intentions’ folding the thumb to the fingers). To give you an idea of how powerful and important gestures can be, let me point to the military salute. What a depth of implications are associated with that gesture.
