about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
Just a big kid at heart

You are the birthday child this month!!
When you get done admiring the elegant refreshments someone who knows you well has undoubtedly provided to celebrate the occasion, when you need a break from gathering in the compliments, the congratulations, and all the other admiring attentions of your friends, relatives and any passers-by you can attract into noticing you ... and all the fuss and hubbub ... pull up a comfortable chair and sit down for a minute.
I promise to be suitably respectful here amid the festivities while we talk about your favorite subject in all the world . . .YOU!!
Well, maybe with good reason you feel this way. A Leo soul is an interesting expression of life -- the true showman and star of the Zodiac, and like all good actors he has a personality for all occasions and he does play his roles so well.

all of them fun.
He can be a delightful mix of youthful exuberance, playfulness, enthusiasm and joy ... like a real-life Peter Pan, the kid who refuses to grow up. He can be an inspiring leader ... able to rally followers and inspire confidence with his own dramatic displays of courage and personal charisma. He can be the elegant, creative artist and performer who knows how to charm his audience and hold the spotlight of attention like a well-polished jewel in the palm of his hand.
He can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time ... and, in fact, is famous for wielding that talent. Indeed, on occasion, there is nothing so rousing as a true Leo on full display -- even with all the pomp and ceremony aside, which it rarely is, if he gets his way.
But he can also be insufferable, arrogant, temperamental, over-bearing, self-involved, pretentious ... and patently ridiculous, when finally his own pride topples him and his fondness for the sensational, attention grabbing gestures sends him way over the top.

That happens. In fact, that happens a lot. Leos are natural gamblers. They love to take a chance, to roll the dice, to set up that risky situation where they could win really, really big -- and then put themselves, their abilities, their nicely-polished and fluffed-up egos, and their sincere belief that they deserve the Grand Prize on the line ... and see what comes of it. They are, after all, a Fire Sign who believes "No guts, no glory." And Leo craves huge helpings of public glory.
Do they win with this strategy a lot? You bet. Luck is very often on their side. And sometimes the true key to winning is the willingness to try. The breath-taking example Leos set for the more timid signs, (especially Pisces and Virgo, for instance) can be inspiring for everyone who sees it in action ... even if some of the other executive signs (like Capricorn) see Leonine bravado as unnecessarily full of flash and dazzle at the risk of solid success.

They have a point. If winning is the goal, sometimes Leo puts himself way too far out on a limb to even lay claim to common sense. It's when you understand that, for Leo, winning is only a component in the prize he wants -- Winning Big ... is the real plum -- it all makes sense. He's willing to take spectacular chances because he needs the notice ... the gasps of anxiety from the audience with all eyes fixed on him as he does his high-wire acts.
He needs to succeed in a most public arena -- with stakes worth the alarm and tension, and then some. You don't do this by being a wimp and playing it safe. You do it in that exhilarating way -- with flair and style -- that Leos naturally carry out so well.

When you win, of course, it's marvelous. There are flashbulbs popping and champagne all around. And Leos can give the most wonderful off-the-cuff acceptance speeches -- acknowledging how, in all modesty, they deserve every smidgen bit of this award and celebrity.
But obviously, big risks are big risks because of the potential down-side. That can be significant. And when Leo catches his toe in a crack right at the moment of making his great leap for the big brass ring, and does a pratfall instead, his ego is often not equipped to handle well the bruises and scrapes he gets for his trouble.
Part 3
If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.
Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.
If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.
Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.
Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

Very well described. The authentic king of the jungle. Leo is better to have a friend than an enemy, where they tend to show their less sympathetic side. They are so adventurous that they say that Christopher Columbus was Leo.
According to Wikipedia, Christopher Columbus was a Scorpio, but he certainly had Leo energy somewhere in his character. We all do. Wherever it was, he sure knew how to use it well. Thank you for stopping by. You write on some very interesting subjects.
thanks! it is my brother's birthday today and he definitely is a leo guy :)
They're unmistakable aren't they??!! I envy them all that flamboyant self-esteem.
