Ask Steemit is a series I started last May following a post by @kevinwong where he quoted a suggestion from @jesta for Ask Reddit style posts on Steemit. I ran Ask Steemit each week for several months before taking a break from posting on Steemit for several weeks towards the end of last year.
I am happy to say that my Ask Steemit posts will be back, and I will be awarding my favorite response with 5 SBD.
The question for the Steemit community today is: What is a lesser known cryptocurrency that you believe will significantly rise in value over the next few weeks and why?

Auction barely started, there's a lot to happen and the basic idea is amazing.
Don't take it an investment suggestion, however, I'm mostly speculating.
Right now 200 billion has just poured in to the crypto market (since new years) and it looks like all the coins with huge supply like xrp,cardano,tron, stellar ...etc are getting a lot of it. It is my theory that all these new people coming in are just buying coins with a low price not really knowing the huge supply and overbought market cap. Cardano is just a project that won't be ready for years possibly lol. My pick for the most undervalued right now because what it offers is LISK. They have a relaunch and branding coming up and offer Javascript ICO's to be built off sidechains keeping the main chain functioning properly.
Great comment. Yes, I agree with you there. Many new investors are just buying cryptos with low prices without understanding marketcap. i’ve heard some good things about Lisk. Any idea about when rebranding might occur and any additional details? Thanks
I'm glad you asked! Mat from the Lisk Team just confirmed, that the Core 1.0 Release is going to come before the relaunch on Feb 20th! So it won't be long until Lisk gets a huge boost! Two major upgrades coming very soon ;)
I'm going with Cardano (ADA). Charles Hoskinson (co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of Cardano) is awesome. The dude understands the issues with Ethereum scaling and transaction speeds. No mining = quicker and cheaper to run, might help with that global warming thing too :) Proof-of-Stake is the new generation blockchain protocol.
Basic Attention Token(BAT). It solves issues within the relationship of a user to publisher to advertiser. More on giving value to user's time and attention. Co-founded by great people behind Mozilla. And there's alot more for BAT this 2018.

I think Neo, maybe. When China decides to alleviate its position I think it will explode, maybe in several weeks. It was already nicknamed the ethereum of China. In the same way I always prefer steem, it is different, for the simple fact of creating community, intelligence, and becoming more intellectual. a hug.
Either (Tron trx )which is quite new and focused on the Chinese market aiming to tackle the global entertainment industry, or( digibyte DGB)which has been around for years but starting to show signs of major adoption

I think burst is about to take off well. Dymaxion came out with no problems. The wallet interface is nice. Mining is possible because it uses hard drive space. With a bit of good buzz it could easily be a top 100 coin.
Thanks for the asksteemit contest @nextgen622. I believe it would be Raiblocks (XRB) tokens. I looked most cryptocurrency movement and market capitalization. Most currencies immediately dip and the rise. But XRB seems only rising. XRB is most stunning with No fees with low latency and instantly transactions, scalability for micro payments and simplicity.
well, to me I guess SBD is the lesser know cryptocurrency that I believe will significantly rise in value over the next few weeks reason being that due to the recent rise in the value of steem, more people will demand to acquire more SBD so as to convert it to steem which is now on a high side, also couple with the free transaction fee offered by the steem blockchain incompare to other cryptocurrency like bitcoin which has a high transaction charges, people will prefer SBD to other crytos. so prior to this high demand that will happen soon to SBD, the value of SBD is possibly going to shoot up.

I believe STEEM, given that the Steemit community is rapidly growing on a daily bases and thats all it needs to drive up the coin market cap ranking which is the key factor.
Here in my home country, projects such as #project20millionnaija, #steemkaduna, #steemuyo #steemdelta amongst others are being undertaken to grow the steemit community.

I'd say Steem, too! I am certainly crossing my fingers that things pick up in the near future and I do understand that not many people are aware of the platform.
Notice it's still in beta, by the way so we're in the beginning developmental stages, in my opinion even if Steemit has been around for a couple of years now.
There's still tons of room for growth and improvement.

The only lesser-known token I know about is steem. I think Steem has a great potential because of its transaction speed, no transaction fees, soon-to-be-released SMT, included wallet with security features, ease of use, a great community, the ability to earn tokens instead of simply the option to buy them and the fact that the single exchange that began operating in Korea has already shown such a huge impact. Steem just needs a bit of a kick-start to show its value and when people discover it, I think it has no reason NOT to take off!
If you were a merchant conducting business with cryptocurrencies, would you want to enter all those random letters and numbers for everyone's wallet or would you rather input something as simple as @happyme? So many benefits to Steem, it just has to succeed.

I trust TRON (TRX) would be high gain next two weeks. I saw TRX currency last 72 hours circulating supply and market volume. TRX showing high growth up. Price under the $1. sia coin - its gone from hovering around 2 cents to nearing 5 cents - its a data sharing coin that has a real use case thats applicable to just about every company that operates in the digital age.
their first batch of asic miners are coming out in the 2q this year and will dramatically increase the number of coins in circulation, as well as the awareness of it both to the general public - but also to smaller to mid size companies. They could use a little better marketing team, however I think their developers have been putting most of their efforts into developing these asic miners.
has a high number of coin, so the coin won't increase in the $5-$10 dollar range, but I could see it getting up to a $1. Still leaving room for 5x-20x gains in 2018.

smart cash as far as i know i knew about this but missed out on this one it has smart capabilities and smartbot username on steemit works to transfer and withdraw smart cash funds so i think its the best and undervalued but it will go insanely high

I would say Experience Points (XP) because it reminds me every day how risky the whole market is. It's such a scam coin just look at their website. It is like the most i'm in for the money coin out there.
