Having been around crypto since 2013, while mainly focusing on BTC at first I was fascinated by altcoins. Back then there weren't this many around and you could follow most pretty well while having time for other things too. Nowadays so much is going on with adoption and new projects you need a full team just to be able to focus on the big projects development and news.
It has been a surreal experience though, seeing it all unfold and taking this decentralized innovation by storm. Although I always had my hopes up, I didn't expect it to happen this quick.
Through many investments and trades followed by a lot of hodling and reading, there have been some coins that I've had a pretty good timing with when to buy in. One of my proudest purchases, although not as much as I would've wanted to, is Steem.
I managed to buy a few thousand during the 6-7 cents period.
What made this special is that you can do so much more with Steem than just have it lay there and appreciate in value and that's what I love about this currency and still have high hopes for it!
Here's to this turning into an even better investment than what the returns have been so far! :)

Absolutely no question it's been my investment of time on Steem. As a guy with literally no money to invest, I mean I was living in my dad's basement basically when I joined here, its pretty amazing that I have 1000 Steem tokens to call my own AND the income stream that continues to generate more.
Maybe before that, the smart thing was all of the reading of difficult documents like the bitcoin white paper, then Nick Szabo essays and Vtalik Buterin's stuff and on and on. That wasnt easy but that was probably why I knew steem was such a big deal when I saw it.

I hear ya on this @heymattsokol ! Steem is certainly not my biggest or most successful crypto investment, but it is one of my favorite. I certainly put more time into my Steem investment than anything else. For me, Steem holds the possibility of showing world what crypto looks like beyond just monetary exchange. I've made the personal decision to post all of my short fiction writing (a professional hobby for me) on SteemIt to underscore my commitment to the platform and to hopefully be a positive player in the "proof of brain" space here on Steemit. This platform certainly has its issues, but I'm game, I'm here to do my best to add value to the platform and to show the world that content creators can own their own content and profit off of it without have to pay the intermediary leeches or give up their privacy. Go Steemit!!
The great thing about Steem is if you use Steemit as a content creator then your investment isn't just paying off when the speculative price goes up, but you can actually make a nice income creating content, like you do. :D

That's amazing. I am not that old in crypto, but I have bought ADA when it was a few cents, sadly I have bought it again and again until the last time I bought it a few days before the crash in January :)
I have bought Steem a few days ago when it was 1.37$
I am a serious guy writing about science, space and engineering and I believe in Steem. I even have a little project to help rural communities by bridging the gap between them. Offer education and reward good use of the education. Eastern Europe, Romania here, I still don't know where you are from but I am reading you usually.

I am very new to crypto and steem became my very first crypto holding. Sometimes i wonder which planet i was in all this years that cryptos and the blockchain technology started off.
On the positive side, since i joined steemit in late december last year i have been able to get a little amount of bitcoin, eth, ripple, tron, dogecoin, bts, ada etc. All in little quantities.
Getting to know about steemit has been the most positive thing that has happened to me since i graduated from school. I am hoping to grow here and invest as time goes on.
This is so real! and this has very good future prospects, the diverdification of the currency is a project that achieves independence and that really is great, in June 2017 was when I met the cryptomoneda, then the btc was around $3000 and I got to buy a small portion, it was great to see that my investment had great results in December of the same year so it has been my best purchase.

I have been blessed with success in the Crypto's over these past few years.
My best investment was Verge with a purchase of 1 million for $2k.
I sold half @ .25 cents for a hefty profit. 62X = $125K
I will sell 100,000 @ $1 then sell another 200,000 @ $4
I will be up a Million $ by then, just off a $2k investment.
My biggest holdings are LTC and ETH these will make me a Billionaire by the end of next year!

Apart from bitcoin, i bought electroneum at a very cheap rate.
However my favorable investment has been on neo. I bought at a very cheap rate n sold at a very high rate.
I got into crypto last November through this platform. It was only normal I started with steem. Though I didnt invest my fiats, I used some of my sbd earnings to purchase steem then at the rate of 0.2sbd/steem. The best investment I have done in crypto so far because few weeks after, steem rose to almost $10.

i got ripple in large quantity last year and sold off when it was above $2, i was able to recoup my capital and started trading. hasnt been a bad journey afterall. so far, so good.
And as for steem, thats why i'm still here. it has been good, it is good and i'm guessing it would still be good
I actually made a bunch on Ripple in December. Got in at 0.6 and it wen't to almost $4. Now I am considering going all in on Steem to be honest. Things look so good for the future I wouldn't want to miss out on that.

I really see you have been here since 2013! I have to admit my biggest investment is time on Steemit and guess what i have so far accumalated 500SP from zero in my 8 months which is a great return on investment. I have also learned a great deal about crypto especially you(only that of late you reduced on the crypto lessons!).
In short my biggest investment is joining Steemit,through Steemit am also now have a few altcoins.
This time that this time is going on, this time is a very good time for Bitcoin because every Bitcoin is worth over $ 9500. I think that all of the time bitcoins will want to use it by changing and it is currently being used as the best winner for cryptocurrency.
I'm with @heymattsokol here for sure. Almost 7000 SP earned through blogging/curation in almost exactly 1 year being 'active' means that the time spent here is by far my best investment, ever!

@mada got me in to Steemit pretty early; August of 2016. My first post made $1600 and I was fully committed from that moment on. The next few months of posting made less than $10/ea, but I'd seen the potential and knew this was a special revolution. When STEEM crashed, I bought about $300 when it was around $0.07 and by that summer, it'd turned in to thousands of dollars. STEEM was my bridge in to this crazy world of crypto so it'll always have a special place in my heart.
Wow, I really did missed the boat. I guess better late than never but it would have been good to be you. I got into crypto in 2016, so I got stellar lumen when it was 1 cent or less. I really wished I had known steem earlier.

My best was Verge. I bought in at .0032 and sold out at .09. That's nearly a 28X return. Wished I'd sold out in January.
All this by year end; I will sell 1/4 of my Verge @ $1 then half @ $4

it was around $700 when i bought it early last year.
was new to cryptocurrency, after all, so i was steadily checking coinmarketcap, I got interested that it was next after bitcoin and i decided to give it a shot.
i got some (buying), also acquired some (mining) and in december, i sold off a large chunk. And it really helped i must say..
And now, its STEEM. the future is so bright

I have invested on Steem just 1 month ago after I have met Steemit platform... When I have done a deep research on Steemit, I have seen how a social & innovative platform it is and how valuable it is in real daily life not only in virtual life. Considering the value of Steemit, then I though that Steem should also be a very trustable & profitable crypto currency... Steem did not disappoint me.
I have also BTC and XRp, but Steem is my favorite.

EOS by far is the best for me, and it hasn't even begun yet! It will do what steem does, but much better, and so much more. It was a good buy at $0.50 and it's still a good buy at $20.00.
EOS will be the #1 cryptocurrency by 2020!

I bought Steem at 1.6 and now it went to 4.0 .
EOS as well was a good buy at 5. Wished I bought it earliers but can't complain.
My best investment is that i joined Cardano ICO, That was my first ICO i joined and it was huge success, After that i have joined many ICOs that have failed or scam.
I invested in some shit coins last year but it didn't pay off. I invested lil amount into EOS not too long ago and I plan to increase it. So far i want to say EOS is the best. Still thinking about buying EOS with the lil BTS i have.

I entered in this world one years ago, till now i think my best investment is dragonchain, I partecipate to the ICO because I saw that Disney was behind It and i think that they have a big potential, what they touch became gold usually...so with 100$ during ICO now I have 1500$...not bad!🙂

The adoption of social media scheme or lemme say blogging makes steem one of the best altcoin. Like you said, you don't just have to buy steem and hodl for it to appreciate. A lot more can be done with it.
Does putting all of my time and effort into Steem count? I've got a lot of faith in this platform and trying to build something for myself has been about my only aspiration of late. I'd really like to turn this into something great, where I don't have to work shitty jobs in between my bouts of medical problems. That's about the only positive experience I've had with crypto trading honestly, lol. That's what happens when you invest right before the markets start to bleed though, I suppose.
Though your title says "crypto purchase", which could imply something you've bought with crypto. In that case I would say the engagement ring I got my fiancee was pretty dope. But, I guess that would be up to your interpretation :P
I think my best move in crypto was getting into crypto seriously just a few months before the major bull run we had last year :-D and wow, you where really lucky to get Steem at those prices!
