I stopped bothering about those people a long time ago, focusing on helping to grow a new generation with a different mindset - hoping that one day, their influence would be big enough to actually change how things worked around here.
I realize this will take time - years probably, but I'm happy to see that the shift is already taking place. More and more people are working towards the same goal. At least, that's what I see from where I'm standing.
As for the hypothetical question: I wouldn't change my ways. Ever since HF20, this platform is doomed if no action is taken. Newcomers are limited in such ways that there's absolutely no incentive for them to stay. Athough I applaud initiatives like the 10k minnow project, I thought long and hard, and then decided to limit my contribution to that; There are plenty of people supporting it. But without people giving newcomers the benefit of the doubt and delegating some of their SP to them to allow them to get around and decide for themselves whether they think this platform is worth staying or not, there will at one point be no more redfish to push towards minnowhood. It's always a gamble deciding to delegate to newcomers based on their first couple of posts - some stay, some don't, but I'm willing to take that risk if it means the this platform might have a future.
