This island holds a special place in my heart. This is where I met my childhood bestfriend and close friends with whom I have a strong bond, even though we don't always see each other.
My friend, Heccy, invited me to come with her to Beunavista, Manicani Island, which is part of Guiuan but separated by water. We only traveled for 30 minutes, and even though the water was a little choppy, because our boat is larger than a regular fisherman's boat, I am confident that I will not get wet.
When we arrived, I noticed many changes because the last time I was there was in college. Mostly of the wooden and bamboo houses were transformed into breaks and glasses.
The fiesta day had arrived, and everyone was preoccupied with cooking and preparing various dishes. I was so excited for the litson (roasted whole pork cooked with wood and charcoal), hahaha. I also helped make the graham mango float and skirted the table and arranged the dishes.
As is customary for Filipinos, we greeted visitors with a warm smile and offered food on either Fiesta or non-special days.
And in the night of the Fiesta there is disco party for everyone that loves to the dance . But this is not your typical disco night. The majority of people on the island saved money for the GALA night gala refers to money that is freely given to the community while dancing with a partner. That money will be used to improve the facility of the place.
We returned home after the Fiesta, full of happy memories with the people I bonded with . As they say, a place will never be that great unless it is inhabited by happy people.
Indeed, it was good to be back and reminiscing my childhood days in the island.
Sorry for the photos.😁
