Groovy!

I read an SF novel once where the character uploaded their consciousness into a virtual world where they were, essentially, immortal. The guy figured he'd always wanted to work with his hands, so he programmed a workshop with a lathe and started turning table legs. When he started to get bored he just programmed himself to want to keep doing it, so that nothing was more satisfying than the smell of sawdust and the feel of wood shaping under his hands. He did this for tens of thousands of subjective years and filled acres of warehouse space with ornate table legs.

To be honest I forget what happened to him at the end of the book. But sometimes this is how I feel when I fire up a new game of Minecraft. I kind of wish I could program myself not to want to keep doing the same things over and over, especially knowing they have no impact on reality.

But, the very nature of the Human animal is the repetitive task and the search for or desire to get to or away from it at all times. If humans were immortal, the world would be endless 'table legs' :)
