While the art is good, it doesn't really convey what you describe early on.
Either the art manages to convey what it should, in which case a description is not needed, or it doesn't, in which case, the explanation only further accentuates that failing.
Food for thought on the text that accompanies the art. The art itself is good, but nothing about it speaks of an artificial human, and very little of a return to home, and there's but a slight hint of trepidation, if one looks for it.
I like complicated art, maybe that's why we have to agree to disagree.
