Technology becomes more important with time at an exponential rate. Terms as "Industry 4.0", "Big Data", "machine learning" and "Internet of things" are predominantly at technology conventions and company descriptions. 2018 is bound to be a year of technological revolutions, from which one can make the biggest difference:
"Artificial intelligence"
10 years ago most of you already knew about artificial intelligence from humanoid robots in movies. A world filled with those robots isn't there yet...
Or is it?
Your phone can connect to your television, which connects to your speakers, from which someone elses phone can recognise the sound. Companies have trained robotic arms to do what a person did, but 10 times faster. Busenisses are starting to develop AI platforms more often than you see.. But is this a good developement?
Ofcourse to this question there is not just 1 solid answer.
There are a lot of positive aspects of artificial intelligence. The world becomes more efficient. Tough physical jobs will dissapear. Artificial intelligence is objective and driven by data, while humans are subjective and emotional.
That last part sounds positive. It is, in many ways.
But what if you apply for a job and not get hired because you have bigger ears than average, and data proves that people with bigger ears have 3% less efficiency over all.
What if your car purposely makes an accident because you were about to hit something that is worth more than your existence.
What if people get "data labeled" and your friends are in a higher class as you.
Artificial intelligence can be the backbone of a lot of different processes. As it can take over the subjectivity of the human brain, it can't take over the emotional beauty behind humans, which is something we will always live with.
