To fear AI or to embrace it?

Hi everyone, it's Luuee or Louie.

The topic of today is gonna be :

Do you think A.I is something to be feared or embraced? The following are my own views and what I have known about Artificial Intelligence so far.

So far I haven read much articles written about A.I here on Steemit.

Maynard Keynes , famous British economist lead the a revolutionary economic thinking that challenged the neoclassical economic.

What has happened since a 100 years, from around 1920 when Henry Ford revolutionized manufacturing, there has been a steady progress in terms of how mankind was always able to solve its own economic problems ie. The great depression. He mentioned that in the essay he wrote

`Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren' which if your interested can be read in the link below. This essay was written in 1930 before even the invention of the internet has its own implications that shape the present economic situation that we presently are in and what we would face in the future a hundred years from the year he wrote that essay.

I am taking my time to write this because I need to make sure I get my facts are right.

As we enter into the forth industrial revolution, A.I would one day free humans from any worries of meeting their basic physiological needs such as food, shelter and etc. He even forecasted that time that was used for us to work would slowly decrease towards the fifteen hour workweek. It means on average, a normal person who is employed in the future would only need to work fifteen hours a week to make ends meet. You may ask how is this possible? It doesn't make any logical sense.

Did you recall those times our great grandparents had to work for hours on end just to make sure that there was bread on the table? Were there any YouTubers back in the early 1990s?

The main problem that humanity would one day face is what to do with the time that was available in the abundant freed up time. Keynes stated that the standard of living of the world would grow eight folds from the year 1930s.

A. I would be something that assist humans in work by automating all sorts of repetitive task. There has been the concept of basic universal income which I am not sure would be sustainable. What I can see in the near future is that, more of us would be spending time working a job but more time spent doing different smaller task that could generate income.

A.I was something I knew way back before I ever knew what blockchains were. I guess, steemit is a good way of demonstrating how income could be built using a system where everyone in the community helps to sustain this ecosystem. Imagine if one day, we could use Artificial Intelligence to automate our job tasks and get paid at it.

There are fears too of the disruption of the different industries from banking, agriculture, call centers and many more. Definitely, new industries will be created because of this. There is a question, I've thought about, would the learning curve be steep? When I told my parents about A.I, she told me, does that mean that those who are older won't be able to adapt these newer technologies?

This is the start of the new revolution and great things are going to come.

I don’t fear AI, but I do fear the people that run it. People creating these technologies are not doing it to release it to the public, but to withhold it and make money from it.

As far as basic income goes, I really don’t like the idea of giving away money. Our monetary system is based on debt however, so to create money you creat debt and the system has to go on like this. This is why ever American President will out spend the last. So with all the free money out there sure give it to the people. Then buy crypto, because of the inflation from creating to much money.

As far as your Moms comment, I think it’s always hard for old people to adjust to new technologies. This certainly isn’t new. Like when washing machines came out, I’m sure old people were using wash boards. Or just like when my grand children are teleporting to Mars, I’ll be here stuck on earth! lol

Patrick hi morning. Literally amazed at your answer. You are a really intelligent dad from the way you answer. It's true what you said about the who, who controls this technology rather than the creation of A.I. I think it should have more benefits than disadvantage.

Haha... Imagine those cash given to those who just do nothing. In Brunei, there is a lot of cash that is given and the Sultan of Brunei gives out lots of benefits to its citizens and usually the citizens have a hard time working hard. Not all but there is a portion of it. It would also be a problem for the universal basic income program if it was going to be in the future. I have read lots of books and documentaries of the American economy more than even my own countries economic system. There was one time I still remember that America had the debt ceiling problem and the news which they always did, exegerated everything and make it look like America was having big problems but nope, it was solved easily.

i don't fear but it takes a lot of data to make it look like a human brain. The problem with these records is that they are often obtained through illegal privacy data. that's my opinion.

What you said is true. It is very data intensive and many illegal collection of Dara is required to create these systems. Thank you very much for the great words. =) have a great day.
