Some of the most expensive artwork (the ones that only the royal family and founders can afford), happens to be some of the most simplistic artwork. One can say 'these artwork anyone can accomplish" simply because they're simplistic. However, not everyone can have the luck to get the society's eyes on them. Some artists will draw the most abstract, aesthetic and elaborate art; live in poverty. While others draw the most simplistic and immature art, only for their work to be recognized by the world.
Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa costs over $850 million, something about 95% of the population cannot afford. The painting isn't the most elaborate and complex artwork seen, but the most tourist attracted one. Vincent Van Goh lived his entire life being marginalized, with his artwork being rejected by the society. He lived with severe mental illnesses and poverty; his art was unable to be depended for a living. However, after his tragic suicidal death, his artwork became millions. Today, it is one of the most extravagant artwork there is.
Even today, there are plenty of gifted and passionate artists. Regardless of whether they draw digitally or traditionally, their artwork is underappreciated. No matter how well they draw, only a small population of people seem to appreciate it. There are many people replicating the life of Vincent Van Gogh right now, with their unprecedented future once their time comes. Not every artist's artwork becomes a multifortune after their suicide; some are even ignored after the maker's death.
The darkest side of being an artist, would be the inequal way the society sees your art. Unlike STEM and language, art has no right and wrong. The most simplistic and childish art could be a multifortune, while an elaborate and complex art could be costing $0.
