What were you doing when it happened?

I remember it clearly.

I was nine years old, having breakfast with my family before getting ready for school. We were watching the news on the tv placed in the kitchen when it happened. At first, i didn't know what was going on. I thought it was some aerial view of one of the most gorgeous cities in the entire world: New York.

Then, i saw the plane.

Fire, smoke and a lots of people screaming under the hell that New York had become.

That's when i knew something bad was happening.

By then. i didn't have the knowledge of evil, i was just a little kid who just wanted to eat his arepa (a traditional food in Venezuela) and then go to school. That day, something changed. The whole world changed. Even though we weren't directly affected by the attack, the sole fact that many people died that day made me realise that there are bad, really bad people who doesn't care to die just to cause this kind of disaster.

All of this, because they are not agree with the way of thinking of others.

This short post is to remember you all that we perhaps may think different, but we're made of the same materials and elements. It's like we hurt each other. How can we do such thing? How can we permit such things happen daily in the world, knowing that the "bad guys" are just as humans as us, the "good guys" I put this words between quotation marks because we must emphasize the fact that we're neither good or bad by nature, but the choices we make are the ones who defines us.

I won't post a picture of the towers falling because that is such a sad memory. I just want to remember how the world was before i knew the meaning of evil.
