ArtGuildPH Contest Heads Up

We're publishing the first 5 themes chosen for @artguildph contests! It's going to be all about Nationalism. We're gonna base our themes on Philippines' National Symbols. We're going to pick the simplest from this source: National Symbols of the Philippines - Wikipedia.

Again, this contest is open to anyone who loves art and wants to join. You can prepare your entries ahead of time but do not post them before we announce that certain theme through a contest post. Any medium of art will be allowed. Symbolism is accepted as long as it's relevant.

These will be our first 5 themes:

Jose Rizal

  • He is considered as our National Hero
  • was a Filipino nationalist and polymath during the tail end of the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines
  • Wikipedia Link

Philippine Eagle

  • Our National Bird
  • Also known as the monkey-eating eagle or great Philippine eagle
  • Wikipedia Link

Sampaguita

  • The Philippines' National Flower
  • was adopted by the Philippines as the national flower on 1st of February 1934
  • Wikipedia Link

Philippine Pearl

  • National Gem
  • a species of pearl oyster, a marine bivalve mollusk in the family Pteriidae, the pearl oysters.
  • Wikipedia Link

Arnis

  • This is the National Sports and Martial Arts
  • Also known as Kali or Eskrima.
  • Wikipedia Link
