Art Explosion Challenge my 1st Entry - "Blue"
Hi thanks for this contest. This is Blue a rescued California Scrub Jay. He is the oldest known living Ca Scrub Jay now 18 years old! Blue has been with me since he was wet out of the egg. I do not condone caging wild birds as pets. This was a unique situation where it was let him live or let him die.
This is Blue doing what I call the suntrance. He opens his feathers and drops his head with his eyes closed and soaks in the rays.
I used some digital effects and under painting.

Hi Thanks! Normally they don't. In the wild 3-7 years on avg. The oldest ever documented scrub jay was another rescue that lived to 21! So Blue may have more great years ahead of him.
How fun that you have known him all these years!

thanks! Yes I think i will print this one. I have a few favorites I have hanging in my house. One is him sitting on the neck of my guitar. Another of him in flight. He is fully flighted. But I really like this one too. Here is another taken at the same time without any editing. He's a big show off. lol
